Scribes in real time - Anon Posted: Oct 15th, 2015 - 4:48 pm In Reply to: This is why - sm
I have had two doctor appointments in the last six weeks, one at my PCP, and another with a specialist. Both physicians had scribes. While I waited (endlessly) for the doctor to enter the room, I asked each of the scribes about their motivation for this particular job, if they felt comfortable in the room with a patient, if the patients felt comfortable with them in the room, etc. One of them said, "I'm trying to save up for a car." The other one said, "I answered an ad. A job is a job. Can you please spell that last medication for me?" This has been my experience so far with scribes in real time. Just saying.
