Slang term: Reo? - SeriousMT

Hi -

This dictator keeps referring to the patient being seen by s/l rio (reo? reho?). I am thinking this has something to do with postop PT/OT, anesthesia, epidural. Patient is recovering from orthopedic surgery and "rio" keeps coming in to see them on a daily basis.

Any assistance would be most appreciated!! Thank you in advance!

For example, I find RIO - rehab institute of Oregon. Maybe it's something like that?

Love when these MDs/PAs think we know every acronym ever created -- especially the ones that are specific to names of units/departments/specialty clinics -- ones which would never appear in any reference book.

In this case, I got my answer today. "REE-OH" is RIAO -- which is an orthopedic institute affiliated with the hospital. (I'm new to the account.)

Unbelievable.

Maybe it's a person's name? - sm

This is a gyne oncolgist on consult for pelvic pain and complicated surgical hx. "Her most recent pelvic ultrasound that we have is from 3/28/2012 which shows a normal sized uterus and endometrial thickness of 4.3 mm, right ovary which had an s/l "anellic" cyst.
