Ganglion Cyst Removal - Suebee49

Posted: Jun 30, 2010

After the procedure -

The wound was clean and dry. Xeroform and dry sterile dressings were applied. (s/l) Gauze, Kling and ace bandage was then applied as a hand dressing.

Why would they use guaze and Kling together? Can this be correct?

Gauze and Kling are separate things - Oracle

You would definitely need both, especially for a surgical wound. Gauze dressings give bulk and absorbency for both protecting the wound from bumps and absorbing surgical wound effluvient. Kling is stretchy and used to hold on the dressing, but is a little lacy and would not stop blood or offer much protection.
