Moving short forms - PAMT

On DQS does anyone know how to move the short forms to another company that also uses DQS. Can you send me the information if you have it.

I have tried to get a straight answer as to why we do not have access to the expansion file since the latest upgrade, but no luck (they say it is for security reasons). Support says they do not have access either, that the file is encrypted. We used to have access and I routinely backed up my expansions to a flash drive.

If anyone out there knows where they are hiding the expansion file on the computer, please let me know. The old way no longer works, just has the old file before the latest DQS upgrade. During the last upgrade, it did not even transfer the newest expansions over, just the old one which for me was about 2 months old at the time. Support could not even use the file from my flash drive to transfer the expansions over.

so I have no idea even before that how to transfer the files to another DQS. I hope I dont have to do all my expansions over again.

upgrade (I cannot remember the length of time, but over a week) were not included in the transfer, but the old ones were. I started a new account during this time between the cut off and actual upgrade and none of my new expansions were included in the transfer. We did receive an email about this a month or so before we were to upgrade.

a flash drive, you probably will have to start over. Call Support and see if they can get them for you.

I have them but it is a long written process. Haven't done it in a while but if you can't get the directions, I can email them to you after I try them to be sure they work. Don't want to go through all of that and not have them work. We are talking about your expansion file correct? You use the term short forms and just want to be sure we are on the same page :)

I have some lists I printed out back when I was in school with unacceptable and acceptable brief forms and confusing abbreviations. There are things on the unacceptable list such as cath and a fib. Suddenly we have new QA and it's gotten crazy! We have some new PA's that dictate things so out of order as compared to the "norm" and QA wants us to give it to them instead of making reports alike as we were trained to do. Wondering if anyone out there has ever thought of filling the gap by moving into other forms of transcription... As EMR increases, pay dwindles and opportunities for traditional transcription diminish, I'm thinking that it might be wise to broaden my scope a bit. A doctor wants me to do PFTs from a premade template he created. It is about a page long. It would involve typing the clinical history (2 lines or so) and filling in a lot of blanks. He does not want to pay my line rate that I get for typing his office notes, but wants me to give him a flat charge per report that is much less than what I would get for typing dictation. I applied for a job with a company and was hired. The start pay is just okay, but increases as your line count increases and I think this is a good way for me to get my foot in the door and experience with working with other types of transcription and jobs. I, too, was one of the "account specific victims" at SoftScript. I was fired for a QA score of 90%. This score was from 100% account specific errors (same error over and over in four different reports). Rather than counting one formatting or specific error, they dinged me over and over, making my QA score 90.4%. I am pleased to say I have found an open door to a job opportunity that is outside of MT work. It is a job that will utilize my experience in healthcare and my medical terminology. A very nice pay increase, regular holidays off with pay, and vacation and sick time. No weekend work.
