It seems that Nuance has really gotten bigheaded. It really has become all about the mightly dollar to this company. No one is an individual anymore, no one gets treated like that anymore. We are alll just a number. This company has been horrible to work for. If you are not a manager and driving your team like a slave then you are performance managed out of the company. If you are a MT or QC and you spend too much time in the report because you actually care about patient care, they slam you with you are now getting make-up pay. This company is very cut throat and not at all personable like they used to be. What happened to work life balance? Something they used to push? Ha! That went out the window and fast. Dare to complain, dare to disagree and goodbye. This company is also prejudiced. They can say what they want, but the majority of this company is white. There is one African American transcription manager and that is because she was so far up the director's butt in the past, that she hired her, probably to stay in complaince with the racial quota. She soon will see that her "friend" is a snake in the grass. Don't get me started on HR. Don't dare go to them, they are heartless and could care less, again you are just a number to them. They cannot give MTs and QCs more money, why? Uhh maybe because their CEO is making 37 million? Seriously what in the world has this company become?

I believe you misunderstood. What I was trying to say is they DO NOT hire minorities! To me THAT means you are racist! There have been a ton of qualified minorities who have applied. Do they get hired? Ummm NO! How does that make me racist?!

Wow! Did you ever hit the nail on the head. Management at Nuance is ALL about numbers. They don't give a rat's behind about a one of us. The managers are making money doing nothing but reading what the computers spit out and tell them what they need to do, who they need to admonish because they took time off from the reports long enough to make a ham sandwich, even though we scarf it down at our computers while editing another Mohammad TRYING to speak English and construct English sentences for him/her. Editing has become a nightmare. All the errors the speech machines think it hears creates more time consuming reports. But is any of this taken into consideration? Is it taken into consideration that a 2 minute report by one of these jokers takes us 10 minutes to edit? I'm just so sick of this job I've started to dread going to work. It's been a long time since that happened. I'm sad. I've worked so hard in this industry and have gotten MAYBE 2 pay increases in the last 15 years and those were only a half cent per line. I mean for real...the pay is still the same as it was years and years ago. Do they not know the cost of living has increased tremendously? I still have children I have to feed. I've done this for so long I don't know much else TO do. I'm really in a mess. And then when I log in every morning and check my email, there is the ominous FIESA MAJOR ALERT because I failed to type the word "and" between 2 words. The constant dogging you and brow beating has just become bizarre. Maybe they should take a bat to the speech computers. Too bad the MTs didn't form a Union years ago. Maybe we would have had a leg to stand on now. There will be no such thing as medical transcription as soon as a year from now. More than likely MUCH sooner than a year. The accounts are dwindling away, slowly but surely. You might notice a huge onslaught of work for a while, but if you do just wait. That is an account that will be almost non-existent in the very near future. The hospitals have to get all of their back dictations the doctors are behind on completed and in the charts before they go over to EMR. You will see a whole lot of work for a bit and then BAM, it's all gone.

My query is I wonder what all this Nuance management is going to do when there are no more accounts? I know they will gradually decrease them as well. They would have to. They will get more of them to handle more accounts and terminate some until they've gone through the whole termination cycle. Then all these people with the fluff jobs are going to be out in the cold like we are. It's a one way street and karma is a "you know what". Geez, sorry folks, I'm rambling. I had already gone to bed but I couldn't sleep for worrying about my job so much. Guess I will just go back, say a prayer and give it over to God. He has never let me down...I need to remember that.

I just got offered a new job with a local transcription company. I'll be making more money, no set hours, get the work done when I want to get it done as long as it is done by the next day. I am currently per-diem with a company that requires per-diems to work 2 holidays a year and we have to phone in to beg for work (0.7 cpl) BUT we are not included in any bonuses or the holiday gift card because we are only per-diems. I just can't understand it. For the past 2 weeks my line counts have been slowly dropping below the 1200 daily quota.
