Okay, so I finally actually got an hour's worth of my "primary" - an account I know like the back of my hand....In the past, I KNOW after working so many years on this account almost EXACTLY how much I can make in 1 full hour of working nonstop, no interruptions, etc....

So, I did the same hour, same account, and in the past I made about 10 bux more per hour doing this same work. So something is fishy. It can't be ALL because of the new DQS 6.1 issues.......I can't put my finger on it, but I can't imagine it being anything other than MQ messing with the line accounts again.......

You need to track your lines to be sure. Saying it feels like or seems like I did - more is a guess. Need to SM

document. Over several days, hour each day, copy reports into Word. Count CHARACTERS, not spaces. Make a folder. Do couple times a month. And if you access past documents you did, you can compare. At least, start documenting from now. I know, it is not fun and takes up time. But that is the only way to KNOW, not guess, how your counts are doing.

and that would take time. I don't have Word anyway to do that. BTW, why do you say to count characters not spaces? Do we now not get paid for spaces?

I know I check my line count about every hour - and I am always disappointed

I used to straight type about 200 lph. Now I am lucky to get the 150 minimum on typing and the supposedly faster ASR (plus making less per line for it). I am getting slower??????

I get up less, go to the bathroom less, talk on the phone less. I don't even make lunch any more. Just grab a piece of lunchmeat and cheese, roll it up and eat it and back to work. It is horrible. I think we are being cheated also.

I too have stopped taking any kind of lunch or dinner, getting water,etc. just because line count is so hard to get. Its just sweat shop style!

The only way to know is to document your lines. Just checking what they say you - made does nothing. You need to know SM

how they come up with those lines. At least start now so in the future when you think your lines are not as they should be, you have something to compare to. Ask exactly what are you getting paid for. It takes extra time, but who better to spend your time on but yourself.

Once you do this a couple of times, it will be second nature where to go, what to click, - where to put it. We cant be putting our SM

future pay in the hands of those we KNOW arent concerned about us. Heck, they are finding ways to cheat us, while telling us we are being paid fair and true. Why let someone else control your paycheck and hence, your future?

is to make and the workflow is adjusted this way. Every time I think finally, I am going to get a decent pay check like I did in the past, I get garbage dictation, long reports barely audible, difficult dictators, anything to slow you down and stay within that low predetermined range of pay.

Why all that trouble. Why do they care who is working, a $ is a $ is a $. - Who cares if 3 or 30 get $s?

and removed commas as a keystroke we get paid for? This might be hard to detect on a single report,intuitively, but it would add up.

Oh puleeze. And what are they paying to save less than 1c - per report. Not cost effective. nm

I am currently per-diem with a company that requires per-diems to work 2 holidays a year and we have to phone in to beg for work (0.7 cpl) BUT we are not included in any bonuses or the holiday gift card because we are only per-diems. I just can't understand it. For the past 2 weeks my line counts have been slowly dropping below the 1200 daily quota. Feeling the need to make up some lines, I crammed the work yesterday, going as fast as I can, still maintaining quality, proof reading each document, etc. I was excited to see how much I did. I've recently been contacted to test with a company and was told what they pay during their training period but not once you are released to send work directly to the client. Upon asking (for a low/high range) I was told I have to test first. I've been this route before only to have wasted my time being offered something like 6 or 7 cpl for an IC position. A few days ago I got back a warning message from my company stating that the doc had keyed in the wrong medical record number, but did say that patient's correct name.
