VR and FIESA, feel like I work in a mine field - 7th child

I am technically on probation so critical errors are like swallowing the whole mine I guess? Seriously, with the amount of errors on lists, I feel like I am just waiting to step on a land mine. They made me sign a contract that I would go 3 weeks without a critical error. I missed a dosage on a medication yesterday, KAPOW, there's my critical. And, see that, they even have me thinking I made the mistake. I didnt make the mistake I MISSED the mistake. No, I'm sorry, it's not the same thing. I had been transcribing for 20+ years, editing for 2+ (at half the pay). I may not have been a great transcriptionist but I sure as HELL did not have 35 errors in a report! Sigh. Why do I complain? It doesnt matter, no one cares.

What a joke this company has become. Running off US MTs to replace with India MTs to get work done cheaper. More money for Nuance executives, less money going into American economy.

Thanks. I'm not sure what they are waiting for. She threatens to fire me every other week. I think the whole reason for the contract was to use against me so I wouldnt be able to collect unemployment.

Just make sure you work your scheduled hours - Flower Child

and do what they expect of you. Then if they fire you, you can file for unemployment. Then you can sign your name 7th heaven instead of 7th child. I know I would consider firing with the almost certainty that you can get UE a blessing. Just don't quit. Make em pay.

I, too, am much better at straight transcription than I am at editing. I used to be able to listen to the radio while straight transcribing and still had better work than I do now with silence and speech recognition!

Might I ask if you're fast enough to erase everything that SR has brought in and just straight transcribe the report? If you're as good as you say with straight transcription, it might behoove you to just retype the report from scratch!

I hope you're either able to get unemployment and find something better, or that you're able to work through this. I feel for you.

It's certainly not for most people, but we've seen 7thChild mention this week after week that this was about to happen, so if they are able to type fast enough, this might be the only option short of getting fired.

Lord knows that sometimes we end up typing a whole report anyway because this piece of crap speech recognition system gets 1 out of 10 words correct!

I'd really like my TSM to take a listen to this and make sure of what was said since I cannot do that myself. Years I ago I was able to assign {} to the F11 key and when I hit the F11 key in would jump to the next field in my document which was indicated by a {}. I had all my docs set up this way and never had a problem until about six months ago. Does anyone know how to do this.
