They are calculating OT correctly - sm

Posted: Sep 21, 2012

Heard back from the Department of Labor who verified that OT is calculated correctly.  Per the client library, FAQ June 2012, it is calculated as an hourly rate and then we are paid 50% of that.  They recalculate this every pay period based on how many lines we did, divided by 80.  Just updating everyone.

Holiday pay is calculated at 25%, but OT is 50% - op

Just clarifying a post below that said OT was 25%. It is actually 50%. Holiday is 25%.

lol who actually gets - holiday pay???

I seem to be stuck working every holiday b/c it falls on my shift, only there is never work, if I am lucky for an hour. B/c we are "required" to work 4 hours on the holidays, the 1 hour of work that I might have does not get paid the holiday rate. However, I am required to check back every 15-30 minutes to see if there is work.

Calculating Lines...
Aug 23, 2011

Good morning :) I have been sitting here trying to figure out how many lines I would have to do a day to make $500 to $600 a week at 8 cpl.  Now either my brain is completely fried or my coffee needs to be stronger, but I cannot remember how to calculate this.  Can anyone help a girl out this morning?? Thank you so much :) ...

Calculating Overtime
Apr 03, 2015

Not only cut in pay, it seems like the OT is no longer time and a half.  I can't believe the amount of money I have lost.  Anyone know how they figure overtime??   Also, I seemed to notice that whenever we complain about  FIESA, like about them picking short reports, it seems to happen even more.  It makes me think they probably read this forum too and get a good laugh out of it.  Sorry, but I tend to believe they resent us because we make more money than they ...

Question About Calculating Speech Lines???
May 29, 2015

I'm sure this has been asked but can someone please tell me what happens with speech line requirements when they are calculating your CLPH. It has to be 100 or more. If I do speech lines today and I do 500 lines for example, do they calculate the 500 and divide by my hours to get my CLPH OR do they take the 500, divide in half and THEN use the 250 divided by my hours to get my CLPH??? Show me in this example- 500 lines speech, worked 5 hours. CLPH would be 100 LPH in that example OR do th ...

Is It True That FOCUS, Only Counts Half Of Your Lines When Calculating VR Lines?
Jan 30, 2012

if you make 4 cents per line at 1000 lines a day, they really calculate it at 500 lines per day x 4 cents, making it really 2 cents per line for the full 1000.   I heard this, and I am really interested in knowing if it is true. ...

Please Oh Please Spell Your Kid's Name CORRECTLY!
Aug 11, 2013

Anybody else work for a Peds clinic and get driven CRAZY due to the odd spelling of all of these kid names these days?  It seems like almost every single time, I spell the name wrong and when I check for correction on my list, I always have to change it, which I cannot do until the END of the report!  I am so tired of these names:  Jennipher, Ryleigh, Austen, Allysin, Emilee.  I mean, what was wrong with Jennifer, Riley, Austin, Allison and Emily?  Why did we have to cha ...

Is There Anybody Out There Who Still Knows How To Use Punctuation Correctly?
Feb 21, 2014

I don't want to be too harsh, but some people need to go back to English class. All I do all day long is correct really, really basic, childish, stupid punctuation mistakes. Granted, most of them really don't make a different in the meaning of the sentence, but how would you feel if you were the one reading your medical report and it looked like crap or maybe faulty punctuation did change the meaning of what was in your report? Some representative examples I see all the time: S ...
