Phrased as a "reminder", the TSMs, TLs are making it known (for the new hires pay attention) every single report, every single line, evey single word, WITH OR WITHOUT BLANKS, will be heavily scrutinized in the search for the QCs to make their 40% bonus.  Reports are being put through as many "audits" as it takes to hammer the MLS; I use the term audit losely, to nail the MLS any way they can, as hard as they can.  This way, the QCs get their bonuses of the backs and sweat of the MLS, and the company only pays the bonuses to one group.  Forget about asking for help - you are screwed no matter what you do with Nuance. 

I keep all of my documentation because I think the unethical games they play with our money is going to blow up in their faces.  Till then, I report every single Indian QC who cannot speak English properly and a record of all the mistakes THEY make.  I challenge every single one.  If they are going to make my life hell, I'm giving it right back until I move on (which hopefully will be soon, very soon).  If they get reported enough, they have problems with the off-shore supervisors.  Gotta beat at their own game.

This insane business model of cutting QA/QC pay and instead paying them an incentive for the more errors they "find" is incredibly stupid. MTs are going to leave in droves. It's impossible to work under such a stressful work environment. Imagine if the supervisors came in every day to a folder on their desk listing every perceived error they made the day before. Yet, that is what they do to the MTs AND use it to penalize their paycheck. It's crazy! What normal person could work under that kind of stress? It kills morale and motivation, affects your health, and causes you to make more/real errors. No paycheck is worth that. Seriously, what kind of business person made this decision? What next?

And I know some have suggested to contest these "errors", but who has the time for that? All it does is cause more aggravation, frustration, and unpaid time spent on this "job".

This is unbelievable. It makes absolutely no business sense at all but by the time they realize that, it will be too late. No self-respecting MT will stay. There are other jobs.

Would make far more sense to pay the MLS' better, stop all this crap, encourage the production and give us the damn bonuses we work so hard for! Their business model stinks on so many levels. It would cost them FAR LESS to stop all this BS, pay us what we are actually worth and do away with the endless reviews, constant criticism. Not one single TSM or TSL can put up with the crap that we get evey minute of every day.

I think we should pick a day, and ALL of us hit QA/QC so hard they go cross eyed. Is it any wonder they have ads plastered everywhere, week after week, because people cannot get out of there fast enough.

They want a minum wage employee - well they turned me into one.

industry wants. They want their allegedly "expensive" American MTs GONE. They don't just lay them off because they don't want to pay UE on them. They don't fire them unless they can come up with some fabricated "just cause". If we aren't making enough mistakes to qualify for "just cause" firing, then they conveniently change the rules, or the allowable accuracy percentages, or the minimum lines per hour to be typed. They change them to a level that is not humanly possible to achieve.

When you read these boards, you can see the utter frustration of all MTs. They aren't frustrated because they're bad at what they do. They're frustrated because no matter what they do, or how diligently they work, these scumbag companies make sure to stack the cards in such a way that NO MT CAN WIN.

That's why some MTs are retiring early (at considerable financial loss), or are paying through the nose to go back to school, no matter how late in the game it may be for them to do so. Others (like myself) have no idea what they're going to do.

Meanwhile, I'm not quitting until I've found something else to do. I would love to be out now, but not without the UE money I've paid into by working my entire adult life from age 19 to age 64. If they want me out they're going to have to fire me, and pay up.

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services.  Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows.  All the small companies have been merged I guess.  I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR.  Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work?  Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore.  I was reading an article in the newspaper that a journalist was talking about a few days ago regarding the hospital outsourcing to the Web/Nuance, and the spokesperson for the hospital said in the article that the company only employs US MTs.  ...

If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay. Is this true? Because if so that means they dont take into consideration years of experience, opportunity for increase or nothing. Seems kind of hard to work for an obviously big and successful company that is only willing to pay their employees 0.41 cpl and thats it, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I received an incentive bonus this paycheck (for the first time ever). My QA score was 99.3%. So, I get an email today from my supervisor that my latest audit was only 98.2% and they are going to reaudit me in 2 weeks to see if my score is improving or if I need further disciplinary action. WTF? I've been with Nuance for 3 years and think it's time to jump ship. This company is messed up, and the QA is so inconsistent. ...

In house just got outsourced to Nuance.  In our meeting, they said the PTO is 10 days total, which you have to use for holidays and sick time as well.  So, if you take all 6 holidays (if that is even possible), you get 4 days off a year?  Not even a week for vacation left over.  Someone asked if that changes with time of service and they said no, that will never go up.  ARE YOU KIDDING?  Is this what the rest of you get for PTO, or is this just something they have s ...

I have been with Nuance a few years.  I'm an MT.  I'm not the best MT out there, nor am I the worst.  I read the comments on these boards and my jaw is on the floor.  FYI, not everyone has the bad experiences that have been discussed on this site.  I can't account for the horrible things I hear people saying about Nuance, except to say if things are really that bad for you, maybe MT is not for you or Nuance is not a good fit for your career path. ...
