Does anybody hate FIESA as much as I do? - Fed up

Posted: May 04, 2014

Not to mention the "Major Error" alerts that pop up in email.  I never had a problem with QA until FIESA came along.  My QA was at 99% or above and now they tel me it is 98.6%.  No way.  I hate this program, and I sure have no feelings of loyalty for the company any more.

FIESA is simply a nasty tool so - MTs never get bonuses

[ In Reply To ..]
After last time when they pulled the rug out from me on the last day (which they have done before) after 3 months of scrutinizing, lowering my line counts, proofreading so everything would be perfect, I was so devastated I really wished I could afford to quit on the spot.

Unfortunately, other places pay even less per line and don't even offer bonus (as far as Nuance is concerned I will never get bonus again so don't even attempt to - I get to keep my sanity that way).

Still, I would move to a lower lph paying job in a minute if the QA was not so nasty. It does take a long time to get to know accounts though, and some of those other companies have other issues such as running out of work and so forth. My pay is so low right now I can't afford to go lower, even if it is only temporary.

Basically, my philosophy right now is never look at FIESA, never sign my initials on anything (nope, you don't get my okay to dock my pay, my acknowledgement that I am worthless - nope, I just made a mistake, so I will not be made to feel as if I were a criminal). I just treat it as if it doesn't exist. And the other goal is to get my line count up to where if I take a PTO day it is not a terrible deal. Despite not getting production bonus, you type more, you make more, and higher lph means a higher hourly rate.

I am not lowering my accuracy standards at all, but I never did (does anyone think there is anyone who DOESN'T want to get the bonus, why would you not be as vigilant as possible? but we are only human)! And I still keep getting dinged, just enough to keep me right below that bonus level.

I refuse to even try to get the bonus when they have proved they pretty much pick through your work to find errors to take your bonus off you.

I would like to know what they offer QA in the form of bonuses to take money off us MTs and I would also like to know the percentage of MTs who do get the bonus. I am guessing I will get neither of those answers anytime soon.

My TSM sends an email out urging - the signing/shaming of the FIESA

[ In Reply To ..]
And I was just looking down the list and I do believe we might have a situation of passive resistance here - lots of MTs have errors they have never signed off on.

It seems no matter how much they urge us, if we don't initial the errors they cannot make us and for some reason it bugs them. Good!

Even if it is only a symbolic victory, feels good to be standing up for something, so I will keep NOT checking FIESA and NOT initialing those nasty errors.

Anybody ever get pressure applied re the signing off of errors? What are they going to do to you anyway, certainly not threaten to hold back the bonus, since the dratted FIESA means never getting a bonus anyway.

Does it reflect poorly on the TSM at all? Just wonder why they seem so insistent on us signing off. They say it's so we can "learn" but I don't believe that for one second.

I can always claim health issues for my laxity - I swear my blood pressure goes way up and I get seriously instantaneously depressed every time I look at the obscenity known as FIESA.

never ever initial - 55

I have never signed off on a critical or major error.
..and I won't. I scored 100% 6 weeks in a row and then had 5 reports audited in one day. I wish I could see what they said I typed because it's funny how I can remember the jobs...I can actually remember sentences...but of course it is their word against mine...i guess that 17 dollar weekly bonus was too much for them to pay out.
Ha! $17? Is that all? - Valley Girl
[ In Reply To ..]
I had no idea that was all it amounted to. Shoulda figured, tho, if the $13 gift card was such a big deal. How chintzy! I'm dumbfounded. I bet it costs twice that for the whomevers to pull reports and sabotage them...just so you don't see that $17. Pathetic.

Forced to sign off on errors than cannot - be verified by us is. . .

[ In Reply To ..]
ridiculous. MLS on my platform cannot relisten to any reports, so it's QAs word against the MLS.

I had not looked at Fiesa for about 6 months, not until the e-mail came around that you have to sign off on all errors by a certain date or . . . what is their recourse anyway?

I stupidly went in and marked off the errors, although not with my initials.

So what would happen if we all boycotted FIESA, never looked at it, never signed off on unverifiable errors? What?

My accuracy score was 99+ for years until Fiesa and then it SUDDENLY went down?

Yet, when I look up client feedback in Fiesa (client reported errors) there isn't any. The client sees the majority of our reports so you would think if I was so alarmingly incompetent the client would speak up, right?

Despise Fiesa.

It's driving me nuts--sm - anon

I am currently training on a new account. I have never been held in training this long. The error messages are dispiriting, some are legitimate, others are ridiculous. Yet, I checked my score for all of my reports going to FIESA and it is currently 98.4 so I find it a bit ridiculous to still have to pend all reports. Before having my accounts switched, I never paid attention to FIESA. Now that I have the account specs down, I am contemplating ignoring it once again.

FIESA - drmom

[ In Reply To ..]
I got an e-mail from my ROM - they are in a tizzy b/c my quality has dropped to a 98.87% and they really need me back at my 99% ASAP....Maybe if I had more work and was not having to fight for jobs to get my lines to keep up my lph rate....it's a crazy cycle - we cannot win!

same here, I'm ignoring it. QA drops a hair below 99 for 1 mo - BFD

so are they done with me then? bring it on!!

How many TSM's are requiring this? - CuriousMT

[ In Reply To ..]
I haven't heard from my TSM (big shocker there) about this, but I was wondering how many people got this e-mail telling them they had to go into FIESA and sign off on reports.

When I was first hired, I was very diligent about going in there, until I read on this board that the majority of the people who have commented on the subject don't. So, I just don't go in there anymore. Asking for a reversal is a joke, so what's the point? If my score is less than 99% for the quarter, what can I really do about it? Nothing! There is no point.

And the really bad stuff (which I have never had an error that truly could compromise patient care. Sure, I've typed a 3 instead of 4 on the final number of a blood pressure, or trusted the doctor when they gave the patient's age even though I should have checked to see that they turned a year older the week before, but never anything like getting a dosage wrong or saying "left leg" when a patient was supposed to have a "right leg" amputation).

So fed up!

I've been with Nuance for 3 years....sm - mt2

[ In Reply To ..]
and I quit looking at FIESA 2-1/2 years ago. Not worth the headache.

And no one has ever said 1 word to me.

Pay me for my time and I'll gladly look at it every day.

FIESA - Milly

[ In Reply To ..]
My supervisor used to ask me point blank if I was going to FIESA on a daily basis. I told her no. She assured me that I MUST go there daily and check all the reports so that I could make a dispute if necessary. It was very frustrating as someone else has already said that you cannot listen to the report again, after all when you do so many reports how can you possibly remember what the dictator said on a specific one. I did not go there every day and eventually got a new supervisor and that one never mentioned FIESA once to me.

Our TSM says we'll be subject - to disciplinary action

[ In Reply To ..]
if we don't go in and sign off on the items requiring feedback. On team calls we are encouraged to challenge things, not so much for "our" benefit, but so the overall accuracy percentage reported to the hospital will be better after the reversals are applied. A lovely concept (wanting what's best for your employer) if we were only being paid to do any of this! We should be compensated for the FIESA challenges we submit that end up being reversed.

FIESA - Fed Up

I refuse to check FIESA any more unless I get paid for it. (Yeah, I know, when what freezes over?) None of us should have to give up our free time to do something work-related.

Why I Hate QA
Mar 29, 2010

I type a lot of crap, but just had the worst doc I think I ever had.  Had 11 QA markers so I sent it to QA thinking they might actually LIKE getting some work since they are about to be history.  Anyways, this bi*ch marked 2 CRITICAL ERRORS and did an audit on it (which was still 96.5% in spite of everything I am glad to say).  QA you wonder why we have such a bad attitude?  That was totally unnecessary.  ...

I spend a lot of time typing for a huge university hospital clinic with no ADT.  Have to type in all patient information.  Almost every report is a LETTER.  Referring physician has to be typed into the ADT.  Then the letter recipient information has to be typed in and lo and behold have to re-type it into the cc list for the doc to get a copy of the letter.  I wonder why I can't run a decent line count?  I spend 50% of my time typing in information that I am no ...

Just Realized What I Really Hate About ASR.
Jul 14, 2010

I was just chatting with someone about transcription and ASR (it's been about 3 months since we switched) and it came to me what my biggest problem with it is.  We have no control over it.  With regular transcription, we are only limited by the quality of the dictation the sound.  The harder we work at perfecting our typing skills and our system of word expansions, etc., the faster we can work.  I spent 3 years getting to where there are very few words longer then 4 lett ...
