new benefit rate - sick&tired

Posted: Feb 15, 2012

Are you kidding me?  Now I am down to $10 an hour for my benefit rate.  I pulled out all my old rates and it shows a steady decline.  Seriously, it CAN'T be all me.  I have dropped from $17.25 to $16.16 to 14.39 to 13.58 to 12.56 to 10.60 to now 10.00.  Is everyone else going through the same?  I type the same as I always have for years and years and years, the only change is this ASR which apparently is the death of me.

same here - steady decline

went from 19.80 just 4 years ago, clear down to 13.24 this time.

I think I average myself out between 13 and 17 per hour, so they must just take the lowest average of what you do in the timeframe.

Mine dropped too... - Trampled underfoot

There was a point quite a few years ago when it was in the $28 range, now down to $18. Makes me sick.

I must admit, though, what bugs me most is only being able to take time off when you have enough PTO to cover it. I've worked at this job for 30 years and would appreciate being able to take time off without pay if necessary and they could keep their crummy PTO. My husband can take literally WEEKS off and I'm tied to the computer for a lousy part-time job.

Down from high near $20/hr to $11 per hour -- drop of 50 cents or so per hour every 6 months, just slow enough to seem believable I guess.

I was surprised - anonyn

that mine stayed the same. The most I ever got to in the past 7 years is $17, but have stayed pretty steady around $15 for the past couple of years. I sure hope all of yours get better.

how do you stay around $15? - sure would like to know

[ In Reply To ..]
not being smart but the most I ever made was %13 and that was 5 years ago at the most now down to 10.30.

I am sure HR loved sending those emails out - mine dropped too

[ In Reply To ..]
Oh but don't respond to this email, only respond to your CCM. They didn't want the tongue lashing they deserve. They probably got some evil satisfaction letting us know how much money we are losing as they probably just got their latest corporate raise. Hell, I would even settle for any kind of raise instead of always a pay cut.

Then right after that email came the one about increasing production. These people are sick in the head if they think that was any kind of motivation. I type the same too, in fact, have gotten faster, but they are always cutting the ASR rate or tier rate so I am always losing money. Down to half of what I used to make. I suppose it is easier to blame the MT and inactive time rather than accept the fact that most MTs will be at minimum wage if not there already due to their pay cuts and lousy ASR. It must be our fault, right?

I started out at 10/hour benefit rate 2 years ago. Just informed I'm down to less than $8. I feel physically ill.
I don't think my production is that far down. Something is rotten in the state of MMMModal.

Yes, rate has kept going down and down along with pay. ASR has been the death of me also. Always worked on a verbatim account clinic work same account for 15 years, then had such a big change, ASR, clinic work disappearing, etc. Nothing but downhill since then.

Yup, just above minimum wage for me. - Adios

So, so depressed. So demoralizing. So tired of trying. Just want to quit so badly.....

Reason for new benefit rate - Blue Star

It's no wonder they dropped all of our rates. How else are they going to pay for their latest member of the Bummm of the MMMonth Club. You see, they have the advantage of not having to face us and just drop their bombs and hide under their desks until the anger passes. What a circus!! They would be hilarious if they weren't so pathetic. For the record, I also went from 20 per hour to 10 in a matter of a few of years. Meanwhile, Vern is playing it out like the Pinball Wizard (that deaf, dumb and blind kid). I guess he sure plays a mean pinball.

can't resist - my bad - MT Gone

except he don't fit the part about "always playin' clean." LOL

I went down almost $2.00...and it wasn't that great to begin with!

Benefit Rate
Jul 13, 2010

I thought I was prepared for the benefit rate letter.   As far as I could tell, my pay had been at least the same and once in a while actually a few dollars higher.  So, how can my benefit rate go DOWN $1 PER HOUR???????????  I was prepared that it would not be higher, but I think this is just plain wrong.  Like the other poster said - wouldn't I have noticed if I was making $80-88 per paycheck LESS (80-88 hours full time average at minus $1 per hour)??  What a bunch of hooey.  ...

Benefit Rate Dropping Again
Jan 12, 2010

For those of us that are still hanging on by a thread, did your benefit rate fall?  I just got my letter...lost another $1.  I know that doesn't seem much but over the last few changes I have lost $5...just keeps going down.  I guess I shouldn't care...I have had to use all of my PTO to make up time.  I am probably going to be performance managed (or fired, not sure) because my CCM said we could clock in and out all day to keep from putting in NJA tickets (so we wou ...

Found Out Why My Benefit Rate Went Down
Jan 23, 2014

Apparently they count work availability hours in your benefit rate calculation so you are getting dinged for not being able to work. If I can't work, I shouldn't be dinged for it IMO. That is why mine went down $3.00 an hour, lots of no work issues. ...

Benefit Rates
Jan 29, 2013

Has anyone received a letter about calculating your new benefit rate? I have had the same rate since probably last spring. I don't think they are calculating them every six months even though they say they do. I went on vacay in June and I am making the same benefit rate now that I was then. That was 8 months ago.  I know for a fact that my benefit rate is now higher than it was then, maybe that is why. It is cheaper for them to keep it lower. ...

How Cherry-picking MTs Benefit Me.
Feb 07, 2014

On 1 account that I work on, there are a couple of dictators who are the worst of the worst.  They actually should be reported to their superiors.  Many times each day, these reports are downloaded by MTs who simply return them and rather have no work than try to decipher what these idiots spew out.  I admit they are very difficult and many times impossible, as I see where QA returns them to the client with blanks, even after additional ears have given a listen. What I have done ...

A Nice Benefit To Magic Jack
