happy new year? - feeling blue

Just now got notification (New Years Eve) that there will be a new service area South right after the first of the year (figures, right?) I know this happened to the North region about a month ago. We will have a new DQS log-in and have to move our expansions over. Can anyone from the North let me know what this means? Will we still be doing our regular book of business? Is it time to look for another job?

company. I just got noticed that the group I am in the North is fusing with another group. I wonder if they will retain the present CCMs for each group or lay off one and make the other do twice the job. I know my CCM is already working her butt off. (She's one of the good ones.)

I am in South and did not get this notification. - Was it in e-mail ?

What expansions would you have to move over ? I was in SE and was moved to S a while back, but did not need to move anything. Just had a different log-on but all my expansions came with me automatically.

I am not part of the Northern merger (for lack of a better term), but I have worked with technical closely in my previous job titles. Once on DQS I have never known anyone to have to move and/or copy their expansions anywhere. I realize I have been out of this game for a few years now, but once you have the company code, I can't imagine having to transfer anything else.

I work in the North region and nothing has changed except for our clocking in and out and that is simple once you do it a few times. A little daunting when you listen to the video and then test on it, but is not that bad. Still have the same BOB. So far, it is all right. We did lose our CTL as her position was done away with 12/30, but she is now a MME.

Our CCM failed to send us the info in a timely manner and hence her accounts got split up between other CCMs. We all got a new CCM and a new BOB. However, once we actually got the email telling us how to copy our expansions etc. it was fairly easy. It sounds like you should be staying with the same BOB, just a different log-in number. Hang in there!

Not sure if you were scheduled to work New Year's Day or not, but I was and very distraught that there was nada to do, especially since I had been called on vacation to jump on the previous Sunday. Actually It was a good thing I did, otherwise I would be scrambling trying to make up more hours than I am.

Even though the notice said this would not take place until Jan 4 (Monday)...I was thinking that maybe everything had already been converted over since there were so few jobs in DQM. Tried to get in using the new code and couldn't. Tried to get in touch with CCM...but no go there either, so I took it upon myself to contact Tech. Schazam!! That tech person was absolutely wonderful (Thank you!!), copied expansions over, the whole 9...and in a flash I was on working!

Everything is running like a charm. My only beef is wasting Friday to figure it all out....and I'm sure it is not even the CCM's fault. She probably did exactly what she was instructed to do......but the communication at MQ is sorely lacking. Thank Goodness for this board...and at least some good qualified Techs at the Q.

What's an IC to do? As much as the company bragged about being in the local paper a month ago, they claim to have lost a huge account and have to let go all those working on it. I think we all could use a break from worrying, working too much or too little and see a future in medical transcription without our jobs being ripped out from under us through outsourcing or smaller pay. Who in their right mind names a company "Happy Transcriptions?" In this day and age, all I see is "sad" MTs and, in my opinion, if "Happy Transcriptions" is still happy, they can only be messing even more with us poor "sad" MTs. All I can say is I am so "happy" I am so close to being on my way out of MT! ...

I am checking out my community college catalogue and getting excited at so many interesting courses. I'm not looking for a long, drawn out process or degree, just some subjects that will be fun, creative and could also translate into making me more marketable. As an MT, I lean more toward writing, computer, and maybe even something medical, as opposed to something like car mechanics or accounting. Any ideas? ...

Ive never not given a notice, but I interviewed today and might get the job. You all know the deal, I just can't afford to work here and they want to fill the position Im trying for immediately. Do you think after only 6 months, I have to give them a notice? If so, how much of one? It feels so wrong to just up and quit, but I can't pay my bills! Medquist is very close to signing up for yet another year of Benchmark. So very few people use it and the corporate people are trying to find out why. Seriously.
