Hello fellow MQ MT's,

Does anyone know if we get paid time and a half for New Year's Day? I've looked up and down on MQ Central but can't find holiday pay listed anywhere.

You get 1/2 your PTO pay, same as overtime if it is a holiday. I couldn't find the list of holidays anymore on MQ Central either.

So, if I make 5 cpl on ASR, on a holiday I would make 7.5 on ASR lines.

That's not time and a half. It's you regular rate plus 1/2. In other words, with true time and a half, you could take the day off, go on a picnic and still get your regular rate. That's not how it works here. True time-1/2 means you would work for your regular rate, pluse time-and-a half plus your regular rate.

I think what your describing is double time and a half - who gets that

I have never been paid 1/2 my PTO rate for holidays. I get my line rate and 1/2, so if you read my post above, it says that if you make 5 cpl for ASR, on the holiday you will make 7.5.

I have no clue what your are talking about taking the day off and still get paid or if you work, you get time plus time and a half. That has never happened in transcription that I know of.

Assuming we both work for MQ, according to MQ Central/Departments/HR/Policies/HR Policies for MT/PTO, it describes how PTO is calculated which it says is also used for holidays. To me, this means you get 1/2 PTO for holidays plus your normal pay based on line count, not 1-1/2 times your line count rate In fact, when I look at the check stub (obviously check sheets would be more appropriate since they are 2 sheets), under holiday pay it comes out to the equivalent of the number of hours I worked on holidays multiplied by 1/2 my PTO pay. I've worked for MQ for 5 years and it is possible your's is calculated differently.

I am checking out my community college catalogue and getting excited at so many interesting courses. I'm not looking for a long, drawn out process or degree, just some subjects that will be fun, creative and could also translate into making me more marketable. Just now got notification (New Years Eve) that there will be a new service area South right after the first of the year (figures, right?) I know this happened to the North region about a month ago. Ive never not given a notice, but I interviewed today and might get the job. You all know the deal, I just can't afford to work here and they want to fill the position Im trying for immediately. I had asked previously asked about PTO hours that could be rolled over to the next year. I got an answer of 40 hours if MT/MME, but someone else posted something that was just stuck in the back of my head.
