Replacement keyboard - mae

Posted: Dec 03, 2011

Is it just me, or is the keyboard that came with the Dell computer the worst keyboard ever?  I can hardly type with it.  The keys are hardly elevated at all, my hands keep sliding to other keys.  After today, I am going to buy another keyboard.

OMG YES - It totally sucks

OH MY GOSH YES, I have never made more mistakes in my LIFE as I have with this keyboard. I am thiiiiis close to drop-kicking it straight out the front door. Even just typing out this post I've had to backup and make a dozen corrections. What is its problem? It's almost like the keys are too close together â€Â¦ or something. It's very strange.

My stupid shift key dont work - elite bouncer

I got so mad, I picked the thing up, tapped it on the desk thinking there was junk under the key, and 6 of the keys flipped right off the darned thing. I unplugged the piece of junk and plugged in my old one.

I am going to send an e-mail to support and my CCM telling them I want a new keyboard and not that Dell kind. That thing is JUNK!

I thought it was just my keyboard. My left shift key is also sticking. I popped off the left shift key and caps lock key thinking that something was stuck under them - put them back on didn't help at all! Glad it's not just me !
My keys were sticking on my "new" keyboard and I asked for a replacement and got it. - Daisy

I'm hoping the replacement keyboard is better. I'm wondering if what they sent us are factory seconds??
its gotta be a refurb of some kind - cause

When I smacked my keyboard on my desk to shake it up (thinking I got a crumb under my shift key) and the keys popped off, there was hair and dust all wound up in the space key. I had just opened it, typed my first 2 jobs when I banged it. Dust does not accumulate that fast.

I hate it when they do bargin basement deals (like the stupid headset with the microphone).
Never thought of it, but yeah everything they sent - is refurb
[ In Reply To ..]
Yep, they're refurbs. The entire set-up is - everything was shipped out of a computer company in the midwest who deals only with refurbished computer equipment. I knew my computer was refurb but it makes sense the keyboard was too. That just sounds gross to me, like wearing someone else's underwear. :(
Q refurb. my paycheck. Took good paycheck & refurbed - it into piece of paper worth nil . nm

The Dell keyboards are junk - anon2

[ In Reply To ..]
I gave it a try for a couple of weeks but it's so frustrating making all the mistakes. I'm not sure what's wrong with the new keyboards but somethin' ain't right. Over the years, I've gotten used to HP keyboards. Do not ask me what is so special about these keyboards but as they get old I will get another one and another one to take their place. The keys are *just* the perfect height and spaced apart perfectly for regular typists. Some keyboards you feel like you've had a work out just pressing the keys - they seem way too stiff but not with the HP ones. They are totally stealth and perfect for all day, every day use. Medquist can keep the Dell ones, I'm going to get my HP back out of the closet and hook it back up. You just can't beat them.

yes... love my HP too - elite bouncer

LOVE IT! I have 2 in the closet for emergencies! Hate the Dell, all my keys worked but that left shift, and I cannot shift with my right pinky!

I know exactly what you mean! - anon2

ME TOO! That's so funny. I need to get an extra HP too, just in case. I just can't use any other brand keyboard, this one is so comfortable and it's so effortless to type on it all day.

Sent mine back with old computer.... - deepwoodsMT

I sent my Dell keyboard back with my old computer and rehooked up the keyboard I had been using.....much better now.

cant use those tiny keyboards - mqrmt

[ In Reply To ..]
I cant stand to use those tiny regular keyboards. I have to have an ergonomic or curved keyboard, and of course the ones MQ used to send were not worth anything so I gave them away and now they don't even supply those types and I have to buy my own. Have worn out 2 microsoft keyboards and I wear off the letters on the keys really fast too.
