Lost our "interim" QC - Figures...

Got an e-mail over the weekend that our interim QC had been sent back to MME. She was helpful, informative, answered the phone, answered her e-mails, was really on the ball. I will miss her!!!!

My e-mail only said something about her not being our QC for the "foreseeable future". I was wondering if that meant she was fired, but perhaps she was just sent back to MME.

She too was very helpful and would send out FYIs every Friday with a lot of really helpful info. I'll miss her.

Got the same email. Wonder if we had the same person. She was great! Always had an answer almost immediately as soon as I sent email, always answered the phone cheerfully and very, very, very helpful.

I'm going to miss her, too. She was nice and always answered my emails, not like a certain CCM who is always MIA and NEVER, I mean NEVER answers any of my emails.

Seeing as we are her "wonder-"ful team, it seems like we'd have great communication, but unfortunately it's all one-way.

I think I have a wonderful CCM who takes time occasionally to have conference calls, but she is occasionally difficult to get e-mail replies from. If I have something I need to talk to her about, I phone her and quite often, she answers without me having to leave a voice mail.

I feel sorry for the CCMs because every time they get somebody to share the work burden with them, that position is subsequently taken away and everything gets tossed back in their lap. The CCMs are just like the rest of us - being asked to do more and more for the same money.

They get the bonuses we used to get by overstaffing our accounts and allowing us to run out of work. Awwwaahh, poor little CCM with the big bonus. When they are held to the quality standards that we are and their pay gets CUT like ours did, then I might feel sorry.

Is it true? How much of a bonus? If it's anything like they give us, it's not worth much. Not to mention their job is expected to be 24/7. They're supposed to live and breathe Medquist. Not for me. No way.

My CCM goes on vacation like 5 times a year and never answers e-mail on weekends or evenings. I think we are the ones on the 24/7 expectations.

Lost mine, too. The only helpful one I've ever had. Now have someone who calls herself a quality improvement specialist and gave me my first ever critical error on her first day and more major errors in 2 days than I've had in my 3 years of employment. The critical error was a format error for not pulling in a mandatory standard on an op note with mandatory headings. I have it in writing that I should never do that. I'd send it to her if I could bring myself to care. The major errors were things like "this" instead of "the" patient. It just gets worse and worse. I'm busy applying and sending out resumes.

After 14 years of transcribing for a medical practice, suddenly, without notice, I was "dumped."  My client implimented the required EHR mandated by President Obama.  I guess I was somewhat naive in not seeing this coming, but I assumed transcribed documents by a "real person" would still be wanted by my client.  Now I find myself at age 57 without work.  My next step is to inquire about verbatim transcription, but the idea of not correcting improper grammar and using "yeah" ...

I have always made it - lost the QA one but that one always seemed to be half tax anyway, so did not mind so much, but now that will be $100 (typically was my production bonus) less for me a week and also no incentive whatsoever to type more per line OR any more at all. I can't believe I got a letter in the mail today stating that they've cut off my health care benefits because my hours have been cut.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  I work the same number of hours every week and have since Nuance took over.  On paper they have me down for 29 hours and I work 32.  All of a sudden I'm not working enough hours and now being told to get COBRA!!!!   This is the absolute last straw!  ...
