Received call from TSM (or whatever they are called now) yesterday that she will be done as of November 18th.  MModal is doing away with too many good ones.  Don't understand their thinking, we will be merged with another BOB, another quality coach will be added, and a scheduling person.  Why not leave it alone!  She mentioned all the good things that will come of this, all I see is bad.  I tried to be optimistic before, but after hearing this, I am not right in there with all the other pessimists about MModal.

I never, ever run out of work. She said the bad news is it may be accounts I am not familiar with. So glad i won't be transcribing much longer.

they are putting two BOBs together and eliminating her managerial position, sounds like they are changing things up by putting us into "pods" whatever they mean by that.

so they can get everything straightened out. I have heard they are getting a generous severance package. I would love that during the holidays.

They are being given time to help train the new manager on all their accounts and to brief her on her new team of employees. From now until mid-November is a "transition" zone that they are no longer our TSM and they are no longer available to us but they are staying on board behind the scenes to help smooth out the transition.

And yes there is a severance package but I didn't hear that it was "generous" (nothing MModal ever does is "generous")... just that there WAS one and that my TSM hoped and prayed it would help pay her bills until she can find another job (outside of the industry).

They keep the lousy (or maybe just inexperienced) HDSMs and get rid of the truly superb HDSMs in order to piss off more and more MTs -- don't forget, they want many of us gone.

everything is in India. BTDT with Cbay. MTs leave and are not replaced or are forced out/laid off and supers are laid off, combining us into fewer groups until they have enough Indians trained. Slowly but surely. It's sickening. Deja freaking vu.

Merged with another group, one TSM in charge of about 200 MTs and customers (I think). There will be 2 quality coaches and then a new totally different person handling the Teamwork corrections and such. So basically 4 people handling the same things that 4 people used to handle, but dividing it differently and eliminating one job/person by creating a "new position" for probably less pay than the "one" let go..IMO.

Oh and we will have/keep our main accounts or groupings, and then the other groups' accounts will be our backup if we run out of work and vise versa..better for us..she says

I was told today that once all these personnel changes are finalized that "primaries" will be a thing of the past and that all accounts will be opened to every employee. Specifically, that "books of business" have all been eliminated.

Our conversation did not go into much detail...I didnt ask questions either. I just figured like all the other changes with this company, I would just take them as they come and deal.

It was made VERY clear to me that the goal is for most of the work to go to India, with only a tiny American group left in the primary role of editing Indian work.

I agree with you, at this point there is nothing any of us can do except our best. Everything else is completely out of our control.

Don't know how much work is coming, but more MTs are coming. Last time a group joined ours, we were overstaffed.

Which means some MT layoffs, or "performance managed" until quitting. - nm

well when the HDS2Coders go into the CAP program - over 50 MTs will leave the work pool

so that's something. Hopefully CAP will begin soon for them. I'm sure that is part of this change.

Well just got word that the physical therapy company I work in house for is going point and click.  Inevitable I know.  We have about a month/month and a half.  They are keeping one of us to work the system, make sure everything is correct in it, etc.  So I'm going to start pounding the pavement.  I am thinking of looking for PT front desk work.  Wish me luck. ...

Several years ago, after working for MQ for a few years, I gave up on them - it was right around the time they introduced the whole cesspool thing and all my work disappeared.  Then, I began working elsewhere and guess what, same boring story, the work dried up.  So, with painful reluctance I came back to MQ and these last few weeks has been one heart-wrenching day after the next.  There's either no work, or I get another hospital with completely different CP instructions or ...

So, I had work. No problems.  Then, a few months ago, the work started coming in slowly.  Then, I started receiving NO JOBS AVAILABLE here and there.  Then, the NO JOBS AVAILABLE started being constant, even at 11PM and 2AM.  Knew something was going on.  Found out 3 of my accounts are gone.  Went to India.  I was worried about my manager and what would happen to him and the rest of the MT's working on the other accounts, but comes to find out, the manage ...
