Really?! Do you HAVE to listen to the radio while dictating? - frustrated

Honestly, this Dr. is always listening to the radio when he is doing his reports and it is up LOUD. So of course, since I do VRE, I have to delete TONS of song lyrics from every report he does.

Can he seriously not live without his terrible 80's soft rock for 10 minutes?!

at a radiology diagnostic center, there was one doctor who LOVED his music. Wide variety too, disco, soft rock, classical, sometimes even Christmas music in the middle of the summer, LOL. You never knew what you might hear.

A long time ago, I transcribed for a doctor who always - had music on in the background. (sm)

Some soft rock, some classical. Most of the time, he didn't have the volume up too high, so I never really minded. Well, then he started listening to a new album, over and over again. It was instrumental, and sounded nice. During this period, I inexplicably lost my appetite and began losing weight because I was eating so little. I actually became a little underweight. I later found out why. (I think.) He was listening to a special weight-loss album that had some sort of subliminal messages in it, probably about eating less! You couldn't hear it, but I guess it went into your subconscious. I guess I was picking up on that, even on the cassettes I was transcribing! Once he stopped listening to them while he was dictating, my appetite came back!

I bet I'm not alone. Your new pay plan is cruel. I would rather miss out on having a quarterly bonus and getting emotionally destroyed once in a quarter rather than every single day. This doctor is absolutely disgusting. I have umpteen jobs for him and he is constantly coughing and snorting up his snot. I can't take it any more. It is so gross. He sounds like a snorting PIG. On top of that, he's constantly forcefully flipping through the pages of the chart and it must be right near the microphone because it feels like it's going to break my eardrums. The MTs on my account have constantly complained about 1 doctor on VR who does not belong there!! We are simply typing his reports for the lesser pay. We have complained directly to our supervisor about it and nothing has been done because we do not send the reports to QA. Certainly, you can understand what he is saying, that is not the problem. The site I used to go to does not exist, and the DocQManage site only has statistics, QA submitted reports and client profile look up. There are several disagreements I have with what I was marked off for. It is so aggravating. I should have added a word (which has no effect on the meaning of the sentence. I got a major error (wrong date within the report) on post audit. I want to make sure I really did make that mistake -because it doesn't seem like the usual mistakes I make. I don't see a way to do it in Fiesa like my TSM said, unless I'm missing something. That would sure stink if this weren't possible. For example, if you think you need a reversal on something--it would help to be able to relisten to see if you really made that mistake. ??? ...

I very seldom vent or complain, but it has just got to me today. This surgeon does such good dictation, EXCEPT when he yawns and continues to dictate. How in the world does he think we can understand him when he does this. It is not a little yawn either. It almost makes me shutter when he does it. He does this all the time...turns a 1.5-2 min dictation into a 15 minute dictation. I fast forward through it, but I still have to "listen" to the whole file before I can turn in the dictation. This is on top of being a horrible dictator; he whispers, shuffles papers, etc, and has extremely long pauses between words. Gah!!!! Okay, just had to get that out of my system. Thanks! ...
