I received a very nice Christmas card and gift card with personal signatures in the mail today -- what a wonderful surprise. This does help encourage me that maybe things will work out in this transition to a bigger company. Much negative said here on the boards, but this is very appreciated!!

I realize the pressure companies are under competing with labor in 3rd world countries. That you were able to send me a gift touched my heart. I will do my best to provide out clients with the best an MT can and be a devoted, loyal MT.

These companies are sending work to India, paying about 50% of the rate for that horrible VR which takes just as long to do, cutting our line rates, not paying for Demos and CCs but making us still search and fill them in, and on and on, and you're grateful you got a STUFFED REINDEER? I'd much rather just be paid fairly again & they can keep their stuffed animals, $10 gift cards, personally signed Xmas cards, or whatever other tiny thing they think of. Wonder if the CEO's Christmas bonus was a STUFFED REINDEER...? I bet you a $10 Target gift card it wasn't.... LOL

You're a real downer, obviously a very miserable person with absolutely nothing to be thankful for, or that's what you represent yourself as...BLAHBLAHBLAH,whinewhinewhine, woe-is-me, badpay, cuttinglines, *screech*screech*screech... Dress as the Grinch at Christmas too?

I think it's a gracious gesture. I would have been touched if it was just the card, but it was a bit more and it is always WONDERFUL to receive token gifts as a way of showing APPRECIATION.

Seriously, a Christmas gift is a nice gesture. But gushing is kinda silly, all things considered.

At the company I work for, the Indian MTs are guaranteed TWO WEEKS off for their religious holidays, which they cover by mandatory OT back in the states. And most MTs in the US have to work every Christmas and Easter - without a single penny of holiday pay.

So a made-in-China trinket sent by some corporate automoton with a bulk mailing list does little to warm the cockles of my heart.

Reminds me of those women who complain that their boyfriend beats them up and locks them in the closet and doesn't let her have any friends. But, hey, once a year he tells her he loves her so she stays.

BTW, not angry. Not bitter. I have all Christmas week off every year. Told my company right from the get-go if they didn't like it they could fire me, and I've been there for over a decade, so I must be doing something right.

This is my favorite time of the year, and presents are kinda cool, but there's a greater reason for the season.

PR by making a list and checking it twice - they forgot a lot of people last year and told people if they did not get a card and/or gift card to write and let them know.

I have not had a card or gift card in the almost 3 years I have been there. I sure am not going to send an e-mail and beg for either one. They could put some of their management gurus to work and verify that the lists they are working with are accurate. As far as they are concerned, I do not even exist except as someone they can dump the horrible dictators on. The few times I have gotten notes/letters or whatever my name is always spelled wrong, so you know how much they do not care about an individual. And spelling a name correctly doesn't cost them a penny.

I really like the way it's simply a prepaid VISA and not restricted to a certain store so we can use it however we best see fit. It's going to come in handy this holiday season, so I honestly appreciate the gesture.

Remember mail is busy this time of the year and depending on where you live it may just take longer. Give it a few days before you think you aren't getting one. I can't imagine it would not be across the board.

answer about something must be right, you are still there. If you ever hear Transcend say they made a mistake, you will be the first. They are perfect. No need for them to check anything until someone starts to spell Sure Me Groggy, Larry Goodie, or a few other names wrong. Even Tassle Thompson makes a mistake occasionally.

What MDI did to its MTs this summer was not ethical. Why should they expect more when they gave less?

Don't you think that after almost a month, not getting a paycheck, not working on my account, that the lead would question this, not scheduling my lines for the month. I had been there for 4 years. No questions, no e-mails, nothing. I gave my resignation to CB as I got another job with a local physician's office. I don't think I am obliged to send back the card. They were fully informed of my decision a whole month ago. It just goes to show you...........

as I posted earlier, three months after I quit there they sent me an e-mail saying I wasn't meeting the quota agreed upon in my contract. Duh, there was a reason for that. When emailed them back reminding them that I had quit, they asked if I wanted to come back! Wishing now I would have waited, a gift card would have been nice.....

I received a beautiful Christmas card in the mail and inside was a VISA card from Transcend wishing me a Merry Christmas and the card even says "thank you" on it! I wasn't expecting that. I got my MLS weak (pun intended) gift. Actually, I kind of like it. I do keep a note pad on my desk and jot things down while I work...not always work related, but hey! It seems more useful than the leather mousepad I got from Spheris years ago. I would have prefered a cash bonus or some free PTO, but they probably got a deal on the thousands of these gifts that they ordered and the actual cost to them was minimal. I tried to use my giftcard today and it was refused. It was give by transcend, a visa giftcard, and it was refused when i tried to use it. So, for MT week, I was one of the finalists for the MT of the year contest. I made it to the final round, thus getting a 100.00 gift card from MModal. Well, on my last check stub under the deductions is a category called "taxable prizes" and listed under that is my 100.00 gift card.
