Transolutions -- any good word on them? - pc

Posted: Aug 12, 2011

I've applied and interviewed with Transolutions.  Any bad or good on this company.  I am currently working for Nuance and so disappointed.  When I continually see all these ads for the same companies over and over again I now know why.  Crappy work, crappy ESL dictators, continual change in account specifics, continual additions of new accounts that all need to be done a specific way.  I've been doing this for 20+ years and have never made such a piddling amount of money in my life.  sigh...:-(

I am still pretty new, but so far I like it. The dictators have been pretty good overall on my account, and the SR has been reasonable. I like that it is smaller and more personal, so far I like it! I am just getting up to speed meeting their minimums but overall that is improving each day! Good luck to you, whatever you decide! It is so hard to jump ship!

Thanks for the feedback guys! Having been told by the interviewer that there are fewer ESL docs has actually given me hope that I may actually want to jump ship!!!

I've been here for four years now. I used to be a very high producer with regular transcription, but SR has definitely taken its toll and my paychecks lately have been reflecting it. There are, however, quality bonuses and shift differentials, which do help a bit.

The accounts I have are very good, and for the most part I'm left alone to work. I also rarely run out of work which is a good thing.

All in all, Transolutions is a good company with good people running it, but if you're looking to make bucketfuls of money??! Not so good... However, I don't think there are many of us left who are making "bucketfuls of money" in this profession! Good luck to you. Feel free to e-mail me if you want any further information. :)

Thanks. I've given up the bucketfuls of money notion anymore as I have seen the dwindling downward spiral since VR. But, it sounds like it is more lucrative than where I am at now and a better chance to make more money. The gravy days of working for a hospital at home for an hourly wage and bennies is long gone. I am trying to adjust to the reality. Thanks for the info!

I've just started there myself but have several friends there and we all love it. One of the best paying companies left, and great benefits package too. There are precious few companies out there who pay as well and offer a really good benefits package. Very friendly, helpful, and encouraging people.

I was just wondering...do they pay more than the average of 8 and 4 cpl that most nationals pay?

With all the bonuses, absolutely. Lines are easier to get the way they work it. Also, they don't tolerate slackers, they stay on top of things, which is a big plus, in my opinion. They have that small company, you're important to us feel :)

My starting pay before the bonuses is higher than 8/4, but I have a lot of experience, not sure if that is a factor. Also, I am on a premium account, you get more automatically if you are on a "gold" or "platinum" account due to the difficulty. However, I still find most of it pretty easy and there aren't a ton of really difficult ESL. There are a few, but it is not bad at all compared to where I left! Then you also get a quality bonus as well as a bonus if you keep the amount of work on hold (QA) below a certain level, and it is easy to meet that criteria as well.

Well, I guess I won't be an employee. even though I passed all the tests, I guess I left too many blanks on a cardiac procedure dictation and they felt I didn't have the experience they needed because of that. I have been doing this for 20+ years, but you know cardiac caths and op reports are not my most proficient reports and I had told them that. Oh well, I will keep looking.

My personal experience with testing and communicating with them was not good. I passed all the tests, was told I passed them all with no mistakes, including transcribing. After weeks of waiting, I was emailed they hired someone else. The recruiter seemed to have very limited vocabulary to "sure" to everything. When I called and asked why I was not accepted after I did everything and passed and yet they posted a new ad to hire for the same thing, they said I made mistakes and didn't do well. Of course I will never get to see where I did not "do well." Yes I did ask, but I was never answered. I felt they were dishonest to me in my opinion.

Everyone's experience is different, and if you say you love it there, then that is your experience.

Initially, it seemed like a great company and a great employment opportunity.

My experience with them wasn't all positive or all negative; however, the account was laborious and I couldn't make any money.

They seemed very disorganized, and HR were not MTs, so much of what they told me during the recruitment process turned out to be not exactly correct.

It seemed that there were mistakes on my paycheck, at which time I tried to phone them, but the phone number on the paystub, as well as the one posted on their website, was "temporarily out of order."

I have found everyone very nice and helpful, but I haven't been there that long. Thank you for your view point, and I will carefully check my pay stubs!

I did not have a good experience either. They were not good about communicating or following through after the initial screening interview, I waited weeks and finally contacted them. It made me uncomfortable and I stopped pursuing employment with them. I also felt that some of the things the recruiter said were too good to be true. I hope you have a good experience.

Good Word Count?
Oct 03, 2014

Hello, everyone.  I am currently two years as an IC for a company (I'd rather not name) and am kind of unsatisfied.  I can make my own hours, which is a plus, but the pay is VERY low.  I am thinking of shopping around but I don't know if my word count is good enough to count as average, above or below.  My average is 350-400 lines an hour edited or 150ish lines an hour standard (as you all know, this depends on what doctors I get for the day).  I am currently b ...

Job Offer From Transolutions
Jun 09, 2010

I have a job offer from Transolutions, but I have a couple of questions.   I use Instant Text and I need to know if their platform is compatible with it.  This would definitely be a dealbreaker for me.   The opinions of the company I read on this board were not very favorable -- slow speech rec program,  too much speech rec, etc.  But all the opinions were at least 2 years old.  Is there any more current information out there?   The pay scale is very enticing, but if the ...

Transolutions Few Positions Available
Jun 02, 2011

When I spoke with the recruiter, it sounded like there were just a few positions available. Yet, another recruiting ad showed up on Tuesday evening at another major MT recruiting website. So, I'm wondering, is the recruiter using the old trick of sounding like I'd better jump and grab one of those "few" positions, or did a bunch of people who were already hired suddenly quit? I wonder why Transolutions has had so many recruiting ads lately. Again, I was told that there were only ...

ACCENTUS/TRANSOLUTIONS
Mar 20, 2012

Medical Transcription just keeps going downhill.  They expect more and pay less.  I work for Accentus now and actually love my account and got my pay up to 5 cents for SR and 9 cents for transcription, but I have to work 10 hours a day just to make ends meet.  They pay based on how many lines you type per hour so it can change every pay period.  It's better than what I had at Transcend.  The only thing is that my supervisor is a narcissist, very mean, tears you down ...
