Hi, I worked there as a CMT from 2 p.m. on and got a bit higher. Nice place other than half my work began disappearing and you could not work freely any other time around the clock because they said you would be taking someone else's work. First time I ever heard that. Most places welcome you to log on around the clock and help out and say it is "first come, first serve." Good luck.

I think more companies are asking for you to stick to your designated shift, unless you are offered and given permission to work OT. If you log on to work anytime you please, you will be cutting into the work in someone else's shift, which in my opinion is not fair.

Precyse-If you run out of work on your scheduled shift you notify work flow coordinator. He/she will tell you:
a) stay logged on WITH pay
b) log off the rest of your shift without pay. That is called FLEXING!

That is why I do not work for Precyse anymore. Do not hire me and expect me to work my shift if you do not have the work available. Then, ask me to work outside my shift on my days off to meet line requirements. It is still "flexing" and not sticking to a schedule.

True...however this does not equal "free range MT" You CANNOT log in whenever you feel like it.

That's actually not correct. First of all, they never tell you to stay logged on with pay. The other option is to log off and continue to check back DURING YOUR SHIFT and you can always check later for approved make up time. You are not told to log off for the rest of your shift without pay. You always have the option to log back in during your shift. Again no MTs are allowed to log in whenever you feel like it.

What do you call checking back during your shift without getting paid on your SCHEDULE? Flexing. Checking for approved make up time means working OUTSIDE your schedule. Flexing. The whole idea for flexing is because MTSOs over-staff accounts for the precious TAT. It was also the big advertisement to be an at-home MT, flexing around your children, spouse, etc., not so anymore. In a perfect world there would always be work when one logged in to work. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Having to work outside your schedule when you are willing and available on your scheduled shift, and then having to work on your SCHEDULED DAY OFF to meet line requirements to keep benefits, or be FIRED is a major cause of burn-out in this industry.

None of this applies to me because I never have NJA with the exception of holidays. I always get to work my schedule so they have not overstaffed my account! No flexing involved here!

Worked for TTS and that was their policy. I now work for Breitner, and it's their policy too. Now you have 4 MTSO who don't want you to flex without their permission.

Breitner has that policy...been there a long time.. - Can only work your shift..nm.

and there is always work for me. I have 1 account and I'm not fighting 100 people trying to get a job. I'm not shuttled between 6 or 7 accounts like my other job.

What do you think about the catheterization report on testing for Breitner? I have done probably hundreds of these reports and know the terminology -- that is not the problem. I know they are testing our ESL skill too with this guy -- very bad dictator. Did anyone have trouble with sound quality and getting the foot pedal to work? I think this along with very bad dictator just did me in. I have heard they are not too great to work for though. Maybe it is good that I could not do the test, ...

I see where Breitner has a job ad on the other board for an oncology transcriptionist, yet when I go to the testing area, the only test available is for acute care????
