Anything on Type It Right Transcription? - mt looking

Posted: Dec 31, 2012

Nothing in searching this site or on Internet.  Looks like they're paying up to 10 cents per line depending on experience (IC status), but have never heard of them.  Thanks for any info.

Positions are filled - according to job seekers site

you gotta be fast these days!

Wow... just saw that too - mt looking

I guess they got a good cross-section in 4 hours... wonder about the integrity of that kind of screening/testing? Anyhow... I like at least some paper/Internet trail of some sort :-)

You do have to be very careful with - these fly by night MTSOs. sm

Just look at it as it wasn't meant to be. I hope it works out for who they hired, but I would have to wonder how they filled that many positions, tested them, and had offers accepted, etc., in a matter of a few hours when the company is not well known and no website??? hmmmm......

good luck!
No web information - MT

Having a website isn't a make or break deal for most people and that's why many of you do not succeed in this business. You aren't willing to take chances on a company or at least give them a chance to prove you wrong. Any place I have ever contracted with has not had a website and they have been some of the best jobs I've ever had. Not having a website means they are not too big and may very well value their employees/ICs.

That has also been my experience. They may have said that the positions were filled because they received enough good resumes to know that someone within that group would most likely work out (and then test them after making contact). I'm sure it's not fun to receive hundreds of resumes... probably better to close the ad and go through them without receiving a ton more.

Re positions filled - MT50

I just completed the tests yesterday afternoon. The audio quality was bad. I thought they would at least let me know whether they were interested or not. I guess I got my answer.

Yes, I was sent 3 tests also, and I agree the audio was bad, along with not the best dictators. Makes me wonder if someone was just trying to get some tough work done at someone's expense. I sent the tests and then asked if the positions were still filled and just neve heard anything back. Sounds a little fishy to me.

I was wondering the same thing, especially since it was the end of year and maybe that was their way of getting the backlog caught up.
positions filled - trina

Yes, could very well be so. And then you advertise at a very good rate, so you could get a lot of applications, pick the best qualified, test them and get all your crap work done. Could just very well be.
What I'd like to know is if anyone was hired. - mt looking
[ In Reply To ..]
Maybe that would solve the mystery :-)

Also, I can understand a company not having a web site, but usually they are mentioned somewhere on the Internet. I know that's not always the case, however.

It would also be interesting to know if HIPAA info was bleeped out of the test reports.

type it right - trina

I betcha that no one was hired, that we were just used to get some work done.
trina - mt looking

I didn't test, but I was wondering if they bleeped out HIPAA information (patient name, locations, dates, etc.). That might be another hint it was a scam.

I'm not sure what kind of screening process companies have to go through to be able to advertise, but if it is a scam, this might be something that should be brought to moderator's attention.

Also, info on resumes is something that is entrusted into a reputable company's files, not in the hands of a scammer.
type it right - trina
[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, all of that stuff was bleeped out and the audio files they sent were just like those files you test for on a specific site (can't remeber sites names) but a recording comes on and asks you to leave 3 blanks for "confidentiality purposes."
ah,okay, thanks - mt looking
[ In Reply To ..]
Probably legit, then. I think the site is mttest... getting to know that site a little more than I'd like. Thanks again, Trina :-)

Did some checking - googled the company

[ In Reply To ..]
I got curious and found a Type It Right Inc located in the Philippines, tried to compare the ad on this site and the one requirements they wanted from the web site and cant find the ad on here anymore. Hmmm that does not sound right to me.

Good for you! If we want an answer here is the place to get it! - anon

Many good people here. We have learned the hard way that not everything is as it seems! Thanks for everyone's great expertise and pointing out those who try to make us all look like we don't know anything. Plus.. 10 cents per line SHOULD be employee rate and not even IC. Philippines!! When does it end.
