Windows 8 is not compatible with Bayscribe.

Uh-oh ... I figured of all of the platforms, Bayscribe would probably nm - be compatible :(

I work for a smallish company that uses Bayscribe. They warned us never to install 8, said it was completely incompatible.

You probably aren't going to find any companies that have accounts that are compatible with Windows 8, and it's probably going to be quite a while before there are any. I actually still have to use XP on the account that I work on, which is on ExText. It even took a while for hospitals to run platforms compatible with Windows Vista and 7 after they came out. I would advise your friend to obtain a copy of either XP or 7. Windows 8 isn't going to be supported for a looooong time.

Is Windows 7 In XP Mode Compatible With Editscript
Nov 01, 2010

Hi there. I have taken a job with a company who uses editscript which they tell me is only compatible with Windows XP. I am running Windows 7. On microsofts home page they have a download that will allow you to run 7 in XP mode for compatibility with older programs. I wondered if anyone has tried this or had any experience with this issue and editscript. I could just load a second OS on my computer but this download woud be much simpler and cheaper. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank ...

Windows 7 Compatible Software/foot Pedal
Sep 14, 2010

Hi, My 3-year-old Windows XP laptop crashed on Monday; thankfully my 7-year-old Windows XP desktop still chugs along (slowly) and I've been able to do my transcription work without a glitch (for the most part). However, I need to get a new laptop, and I'm going to be buying a Windows 7 laptop. My boyfriend already has a Windows 7 and he is testing my transcription software and foot pedal on the virtual Windows XP mode that Windows 7 Professional comes with. The problem is that while ...

Is Nuance Compatible With Windows 7/Vista 64 Bit Systems? Sm

I'm wondering because posting says now compatible with Windows 7/64 systems, but actual information on job info page for the application says 32 bit systems only but that is as of Feb. I was going to apply to QED but found that they do not take applicants from California. I was going to apply to Inscribe but apparently their system does not get along with my Win 7 64-bit OS or my MS Word 2010. I'm just glad I didn't go through the testing process before finding this out!  FYI:  MTs, esp. new ones: When you're researching companies, you can save yourself a lot of time and frustration by  checking these basics first.   ...

Windows 7 And Using Windows XP Mode
Aug 05, 2011

Has anyone ever wanted to work for a company that only used Windows XP and you had Windows 7 but could virtually move to XP mode?  Could you download their software on the XP mode side and get it to work?  I had a job interview where their software only worked on XP.  I thought I could do that, but I had to also have Word 2003.  I only have 2010, but it has the compatability pack for 2003, BUT the client's software couldn't differentiate that.  If I maybe bough ...
