Chartscript.net compatible with Instant Text? - NOLA

The company I work for is switching to Chartscript.net today. I have asked if this new platform is compatible with Instant Text and the answer I received is basically they believe it is, but will not know until I go into the program. Does anyone here work with Chartscript.net? We previously used Chartscript which is word-based and very user-friendly, however, Chartscript.net platform is not.

Any feedback is much appreciated!

No, unfortunately Chartscript.net is not compatible with Instant Text. I have worked on Chartscript.net for over 3 years and find it to be quite user friendly and easy to learn and the fact that it isn't compatible with certain text expanders is really the only downside.

I'd post a link to some of the discussions, but they're on another site and that would probably get this deleted. In summary, what I've heard is "Instant Text links to Chartscript.net and works. However, there's an issue where the advisories don't stay visible when starting a document, but supposedly that's surmountable by checking "Instant Text Always on Top".

Or so I've heard. I'm about to find out for myself in another day or two. I won't leave my IT behind, so if I can't get the two to work together, I'll have to start looking again. :-(

I will hopefully be starting with the new platform this evening and will find out whether or not Intant Text works (keeping fingers crossed). I, too, cannot leave my IT behind :(.

Just curious, do you happen to work for a company that begins with "G"? If you would rather not answer I understand.

For more info (and, again, most of it will, of course, be at other MT-related sites, and that often seems to get deleted here) do a Google search for
"chartscript.net" AND "instant text"
and, in particularly, look for those "hits" that return that deal with, um, productivity, if you get my drift. :-)

I am happy to tell you can use Instant Text with Chartscript.net

Make sure you are using Instant Text V Pro, release 5.44 and contact Textware's tech support so we can send you a ProdList file that makes sure everything works smoothly in the new version of Chartscript.net

We have tested it with 3M and it works fine. The posts you may see on other boards may talk about work-arounds previous to our testing last November.

Marianne, thank you for replying. I am not sure if I have release 5.44. I believe I purchased it in July of 2009. Perhaps the version is on the case in which the software came? I will contact Texware's tech support today for the ProdList file. I can not work without my IT!

Yesterday evening was my first night using Chartscript.net and while I could open IT it would disappear unless I went to edit abbrevations each time I opened a new document and clicked "close." Also, if I went to look something up in Google it would disappear. Hopefully this file will take care of that.

For your version number, go to My Computer and check-- - SM

Anyone have any good websites for Instant text tutorial or questions? I did read through productivity talk and did find what I needed. I have not used this software in years. I use autotext, but I would like to use the line counting software that comes wtih IT. Just wondered about what you all think is the best expander to use with VR. I used to use Shorthand up to a couple of years ago and now work with Instant Text. It seems to me that Shorthand is very very popular with the VR crowd. Does anyone use Instant Text successfully with VR? I am looking for Instant Text users who may be able to get me headed in the right direction in regards to compilations. I have been using Instant Text for quite a while now, only adding things on the fly, or using the enrich feature. I do not understand the compilation feature it seems. Does anyone use Instant Text with Probity's Integra platform? I just downloaded IT and am having a lot of difficulty using it. First, I had to set it to be on the right side of the screen because otherwise the time marker disappeared. Not a big deal though. I just signed up for the 30-day free trial of Instant Text. This is what I have found: * IT is faster than Shorthand. * IT has some good features that SH lacks.
