About Call Graph for the poster below - a clue

Posted: Nov 22, 2009

With the name of Rajiv Poddar would you think it was a USA company?  Just seeing that name in your post made me not want to read any further.  That should have been a clue that it was from India and nothing else made sense about the wages either.

Corona,
On your original post there is no option to reply to the board, but my advise would be avoid these type of companies at all cost as it is more than likely a scam and you won't get paid a dime.

I am guessing here that you just received an email from this company/person out of the blue? If so, definitely avoid.

I've never worked for them, but I am on a board where it seems to be the topic of conversation. A lot of people are working for them that are on the board, and from what I can tell it's not a scam. I know nothing at all about the company, who owns it, pay, etc. Just telling you what I've read.

Thank you for the reply. As a new grad, I try to check out whatever I get just because it is difficult to find a position. I've been done with Career Step since 4/09 and have not found placement. I did tell them by e-mail that after consideration, I did not wish to pursue the position further. I had found the m on LinkedIn after receiving the e-mails-that's where I found they were in India.

Be a little nice. Not everyone in the USA is named Sam or Bob or whatever. I replied with a "no" to the e-mail this morning.

Names really don't mean much these days... - sm

At least Rajiv is probably using his real name. These days, it seems that the Indians like to change their names (at least for business purposes) to something like "Sam Stevens" or "Ricky Roberts" in order to try to make themselves sound more American and then maybe the MTs won't know that they are actually in India.

After all, in an email, you can't hear the accent and all you have is the name, so if it sounds American, they must be American, right? lol

If You Put It On A Graph, MT Jobs Go Up And Down But
May 17, 2015

Over the past years, MT has had its ups and downs. The problem is, the downs go down more than the ups go up.  Occasionally an MT will see an increase in pay, but then the TAT, quotas, accounts she is given, etc., take that pay increase away plus. I understand that MT is still a good career if someone doesn't care about making very much money, but the graph is definitely trending DOWN. ...

Can Someone Explain The Productivity Graph To Me
May 07, 2013

The blue is gross, the red is net, but what does that mean? Are the lines supposed to touch, is one supposed to be over the other, what if they are super far apart, or right on top of eachother? How can I go from under 200 lph one day to over 350 lph the next? Are we supposed to run on an even plane or is up and down and all over the way to go?   I am so confused. ...

Anyone Else Notice Their Productivity Graph
Nov 23, 2013

When the graph first was introduced I was able to keep it pretty high.  However, for the past week or so, working just as hard, of not harder, I'm about 50 to 100 less than I used to be.  If this is happening to others, do you think that they showed us what we can do at first and now with the last maintenance have artificially made it look lower so that they can psychologically trick us to work harder?  My conspiracy theory for the day. ...

To EHR Poster Below
Feb 24, 2012

I read the link.  The electronic medical record STILL is not the problem (my account with Q right now has EHR and I TRANSCRIBE the reports).  The problem according to the article is that the Clinicians are inputting the data -- be it typing it in or point and click or speech rec --- but that information STILL has to be put into that record somehow.  They are choosing to do it themselves and not pay transcriptionists, but the Electronic Medical Record only means that it is totally ...

technology poor sound quality of dictation should be a thing of the past; however, that is now my #1 problem.  I have put a notation in the QA notes several times lately of the poor audio quality.  I think dictating on a speaker phone or cell phone (I don't care where --- office, home, bathroom, ballgames, convertibles, motorcycles, airplanes, or outer space) should be MT-outlawed and if a dictator does it, the report should be trashed and he should have to dictate it over (y ...

To The Poster Below Regarding Audits
Jan 09, 2012

I am NOT going to read all those posts, but I just wanted to let you know that you are lucky you only get audited once a month.  I get audited DAILY, at least once a day.  Today I got audited twice, one 100% the other 99.75%.  If I can remember correctly, I got dinged for typing something like "Aorta was tortuous" instead of "The aorta was tortuous".  It was for an account that has a multitude of dictators - I swear there is a new one every day and no two on a consistent basi ...

Disagree With Poster Below
Dec 02, 2013

who said it makes no difference to MM's bottom line if they put us on 100% QA because it usually is not permanent.  Even if it is just for a month or two and they are lowering our salaries by half or more, multiply that by the number of hours worked and by the number of MTs on 100% QA.  They can lower their costs by many thousands per month - at least enough to throw themselves a huge party. ...

company and my pay was cut 23% at one time. You say good management-this company has a rep for this kind of stuff.  Do you think it is good management when accounts run out of work daily because they are only overflow (almost all accounts with this company are overflow) and are overstaffed to stay in TAT-I had 5 accounts and still didn't have enough work?  Do you like pulling teeth to get work and/or answers because there is only 1 (ONE) person dishing out work who has the persona ...

To The Poster Below Who Said Unions Can't Stop
Aug 26, 2010

I agree with that wholeheartedly.  But unions CAN force fair compensation for the skill and experience with the new technology.  I have never understood the concept that MTs should be paid half of what they normally get paid for straight typing when doing VR editing.  When doctors learned how to use da Vinci, endoscopic procedures, etc., did they get paid less because their new equipment helped them to be more proficient.  Do doctors get paid less for EMR because a lot of ti ...

What Happened To Poster Busy MT'ing?

On-call Pay?
May 24, 2013

Does anyone have experience with being on call, whether you have to be paid for on-call time?  My husband works a job in maintenance and they just recently cut their hours back to 32 hours per week, having them off on Fridays.  They told them that if an "emergency" occured on their off day that they would be called in.  Well, today, husband went out of town to visit his mom and his boss called and told him to go to a work order that needed to be done and he told her he was out of ...
