Using fluoroscopy, checking positioning of iliac screw on both AP and what s/l "on foss" views. Anyone know this term? Thanks in advance.

I found another medical transcription board where I think they gave the answer to this. I believe it is en-face view. If anyone thinks that is incorrect, let me know, but otherwise, that's what I'm going with. Thanks anyway.

should be: en face view fluoroscopy/iliac screw placement
Does it not follow - the same rule?

Does it not follow the same rule as any compound adjective preceding the noun it modifies? I've always done en bloc the same way. If the sentence is, "It was resected en bloc," I leave the hyphen out, but if it is, "We performed an en-bloc resection," I put the hyphen in. So I see it as "en-face" being a compound adjective modifying "view." If it was viewed en face, I would leave it out.
English language rules do not apply to foreign terms. - L&L

If that were so, etc. (et cetera) would be et c., and that's just plain dumb.

"Do not hyphenate foreign expressions used in compound adjectives, even when they precede the nouns they modify (unless they are always hyphenated):
in vitro experiments
carcinoma in situ
cul-de-sac (always hyphenated)
ex officio member"
Hope that clarifies the question!
Thanks. It does. - - sm

Sorry. Didn't have this marked to alert me and just remembered to come back and check.
Thanks again.
I'm talking about these hyphens: - view-fluoroscopy-iliac (sm)

I have no idea why you placed all those hyphens above. There is no reason for a hyphen after view or after fluoroscopy. You have two things going on - the fluoroscopy and the screw placement. As I illustrated above, it should be: en face view fluoroscopy/iliac screw placement.
If you feel you want to hyphenate the view, you would have to do it like this: en face-view. You do not hyphenate en face itself.

I can find aortoiliac but I see nothing in my books or net searches about s/l aorto-BY-iliac
CONTEXT:

How would you type aortobiiliac aneurysm? Aorto-bi-iliac, or aortobiiliac? I've seen both in place, and my gut says no hyphens, but it certainly makes it harder to read that way.

Looks like the MTSOs have found a new trick pony. They tried to screw Medical Transcriptionists out of hard-earned money by trying to implement line counts based on VBC (visible black character), but very few MTs were willing to accept that, so not many MTSOs are still trying to push it.
Now they have found their newest way to screw the MT -- “meeting quality” mandate in order for us to keep the minimum wage we currently make.

TIA!

I get these types of sentences constantly and always question my comma placement.
"We will see her back in the office following her injection and if she does not improve, we would consider surgical intervention at that time."
My question is whether there should be a comma either before or after "and." I know a comma needs to separate 2 independent clauses but the introductory phrase in the second clause throws me off.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :) ...
