Has anyone ever heard this term? - NW MT

She is saying, for sure, leukosuria. I am thinking she means leukocyturia, and we are dealing with a UTI. Has anyone ever heard it the other way? Is this a legitmate term because I am not finding it anywhere.

They made that word up, a few of them do it. Should be leukocyturia. Means white cells in the urine. (leuk=white, cyt=cells, uria=urine. The o blends them all together.) So, she basically said "white urine."

I usually just stick a hyphen in there when they do that. Leuko-suria. They all know what she means, but you have to use your own judgment on whether it could be marked down on an audit or something. Don't know what to tell you.

Yes, this was an NP and she sometimes comes - up with her own terms but

I did not want to guess given our companies issues with consistency in QA so I just put in blank with a note asking if she meant "leukocyturia." What a pain. Just had a doc a minute ago who spelled his last name for me (Miller) but then neglected to spell the pt's name which was one that could be spelled any number of ways. Don't you just love it?!

Note about child being seen in scoliosis clinic. Doctor says child is not fully grown, says: This is a nice 11-year-old girl who looks like she is in the middle of her growth spurt. This is a gyne oncolgist on consult for pelvic pain and complicated surgical hx. "Her most recent pelvic ultrasound that we have is from 3/28/2012 which shows a normal sized uterus and endometrial thickness of 4.3 mm, right ovary which had an s/l "anellic" cyst.
