A patient can only have a certain amount of dye given to them before consideration has to be given to the liver and kidneys, so yes, dye load would be correct.

When a patient has kidney problems or for other reasons and they don't want them to get too much of the contrast dye they may hesitate to do another CT. Don't know why you wouldn't believe these folks, but okay.

That's my thought. Is the patient having kidney problems? Elevated creatinine? They don't generally use dye for scans in patients with kidney problems or elevated creatinines. It could very well be dye overload.

I think it is "dye load." Contrast dye will be loaded during CT scans.
