Following sentence has me stumped.
She had an ultrasound performed that showed ( NAFI)? of approximately 0-1.
I'd be forever grateful!

Maybe saying an AFI (amniotic fluid index) ??

I have seen a few OB physicians say NAFI, which stands for normal amniotic fluid index, but the physician could very well be dictating "an AFI", which is more likely than NAFI.

but poster's sentence read something like this--ultrasound showed NAFI of 0-1. It couldn't be a "normal" AFI because normal range is from 8 to 18. That is why I was thinking the N was actually the word an. Just my thoughts. :)

Sorry, I guess I did not read the actual number! In that case, I would definitely say "an AFI".

Anyways, I have a term that I have never heard of regarding a woman giving birth and it is talking about the baby's heart.
"Fetal heart sounds were in the 130s with ____."
She says it again, "Baby's heart rate had _____ and was reassuring throughout her stay."
Sounds like "aksels."

She is here now for some burning with urination and swelling of her vulva and itchiness. She said she had some (s/l)"intimate and" whiteness discharge.
Further down I get:
It appeared the hymen was intact and she has not used tampons. Urinalysis was negative but did have a few white cells and red cells. The culture was sent. (s/l) "Urine: Pregnancy negative. She's________ and negative candidiasis." ...
There is a word in this sentence that sounds like (plots), but obviously can't be. Help ...
This is a 33-year-old gravida 1 para 1 patient complaining of heavy menses with (plots) and pain.

I am working on a discharge summary for obstetrics by a Chinese physician and it is very difficult to understand him. In the HPI, he dictates what sounds like, "on the morning o addmission, the patient had a vaginal exam of 3cm-hand-placental cebo," I have listened over and over and cannot come up with what he might be dictating. Would anyone have an idea? I appreciate your help. ...
In the general portion of the physical exam the blank sounds like visily.

This is a doc dictating dietary modifications for pt with possible IBS:
"I did recommend IBS lifestyle modifications in regards to the same, to decrease her sorbitol, lactose, high raffinose, eliminate wheat "lass."
Thought it might be grass but it clearly starts with an "L" sound. ...
Physician dictates:
"She was seen for pelvic pain and was noted to have probable physiologic sosompoth ovaries. She is still having menstrual cycles. She also was noted to have a 9 mm fibroid."

The doc was finishing a D&C, and said "at the end of the procedure a satisfactory uterine _____ was palpated." Phonetically it sounded like "soo-ful." I'm sure he was talking about the uterine cavity, but I couldn't even figure out how to start spelling it.

"Her most recent pelvic ultrasound that we have is from 3/28/2012 which shows a normal sized uterus and endometrial thickness of 4.3 mm, right ovary which had an s/l "anellic" cyst.
