Patient with MS, incontinent of urine, and dictator tells me he has been using Chuck's pads. Her word, not mine, Chuck's. She even spelled it out for me "Capital C, h, u,c, k, apostrophe s pads."

Thinking maybe I'm losing it, or maybe his roommate's name is Chuck and he has some really sweet wee-wee pads this dude has been using on the sly, I turned to my trusty Stedman's medical & surgical equipment words books. Nothing in there about chucks except for drill chucks. Chux pads, yes. Chuck's pads, no.

Makes me wonder where she learned about this whole "Chuck's pads" thing--was it her crappy skoolin' or was she remembering what someone else transcribed?! ...or maybe I really am losing it!

Do you think they are using the word "Chucks/chuck" because it's a legitimate term (?!) or are they using it because that's how a layperson would spell Chux pads if they were doing a search? It just don't seem fittin', hence it's got me all stressed out because I can't cross-reference it anywhere except in Stedman's or Dorlands, neither of which has any reference to chucks.

And yet the bottom line is why should I even care?! Because I'm a tool with no life, that's why. :D

Blue Pads are latex free and have a built-in quick-drying cover sheet to help keep your body as dry as possible. Chux Pads are also Blue Pads manufactured by Kendall Tendersorb.

One of the first things I learned in medical transcription is to NEVER, NEVER, NEVER pay attention to how a doctor or nurse spells something. They are invariably wrong.

I worked as an aid in a hospital for many years-chux pads were the blue pads we put under incontinent patients and yes it is spelled chux.

of course, most of the lines are VR but, I totaled my lines and the amount of $$ I made. Then I took the amount of straight typing lines I used to do and x by 8 cpl. I have more lines doing both straight and VR, BUT less pay. I averaged 1200/1300 lines per day working usually 6 hours (no set time schedule, just a mandatory "full-time" amount at old job). Can someone please explain to me how the "total system hours" are calculated? My manager is always complaining that there shouldn't be a big difference between your hours clocked in on Webclock and your "total system hours" in Enterprise. I am wondering how they calculate these as I know it is not the time that you are clocked into Enterprise. Could use some help here. The blank clearly sounds like "mail" or "male" but a previous report done by the same doc, same context, an MT has put the word "Mayo." How does this total system hours work I see on the timesheet now? It is way under my scheduled hours. Can someone please explain this to me? Shouldn't it be even with the hours I worked/am scheduled? Does anybody know how long a report stays in our specific work pool? I've done a break on a report hoping to get rid of it. But it keeps showing back up. I'm trying to make up some sick time, but I just can't understand this garble and have already spent way too much time trying to decipher it.
