Google Instant Text and then Google Shorthand for Windows - deb

and see which one you like best. Shorthand is cheaper, and a bit easier to use for a beginner, but it doesn't do as much. Have you used Auto Correct for MS Word? I think that will transfer over to both programs.

Do you know if they will work with windows 7? - reg

I used InstaText for radiology, Autocorrect for eScription (word based obviously) and now am using Shorthand for a non-word-based transcription program. So far, I actually like using autocorrect better, most because when a word would come up as misspelled, and I knew it was one of my common misspellings, I could automatically set it to autocorrect to change it to the correct spelling every time. With the other programs you have to stop what you are doing with your spellcheck, copy the incorrect spelling then the correct spelling into their boxes, save it, exit it, and continue on with your spellcheck. Very time consuming to get up and going. Plus autocorrect seems to be able to handle big blocks of formatted text better without messing up the format.

AutoCorrect only works in Word. I couldn't type if my - SM

Need to buy MS Word for my new job. However, when I purchased the 2007 version online it was an "academic version" only. Can't use that. I guess I have to buy a newer version, like 2010 or 2013, but it seems like the only way to do that is via download and then you pay a subscription of ??? per month or year? I have Word 2010 and that's what I use to work in but the autotext is awful. I used to be able to type my shortcut and it would automatically pop up when I pressed the spacebar but now with 2010 I have to hit enter which just slows me way down. Also they used to be able to be captilized or not depending on what I typed it in but now, whatever case I save it in is what it comes up as. It's just a pain and I am slowed way down.
