Word Expander Program - corky

This really is not a company question, but can anyone recommend a good Word Expander program that works with Word 2003? thank you :)

Using Pro 7 version. You can download a 30 day free trial. It's important that you get one that can also do commands with formatting. You can get cheap ones for about $40 that don't do commands, if money is an issue right now.

Another I have heard good things about but haven't personally used is Shorthand.

with Rose. I also use Instant Text and have for years but never upgraded to Pro 7. I love it and would not do MT without it. Ive also heard that Shorthand is great as well, but have no experience with that. Good Luck!

I tried the 30-day free trial and really liked it, so I signed up for a year. I definitely was not disappointed and purchased the 2nd year. It came highly recommended to me from a fellow transcriptionist.

I tried the Shorthand expander as I worked with it for over 15 years, but I could not get it to over-ride the Word 2003 expander. Any tips? Thanks for the info.

I don't know if you currently have the Shorthand program or not, however if so open Word 2003, then click on your shorthand. when you click the SH icon again it should bring up the Shorthand program fully. On the main Shorthand screen make sure that the auto replace box is checked.

There are a number of other things also that can be done, if need be, to get it to override Word AutoText. If you have the program on hand, send me an email message, and I will help you further from there.

I have Sylvan Software's Shortcut program, which I have had for 4 years now. Lately, it has been screwing up on me. When I do something like add a letter in editing, such as an a, it will put in an expansion as if I typed a two-letter abbreviation, like ua for urinalysis, or aa for aortic aneurysm.
