Transferring Instant Text into AutoCorrect - tech clueless

I am chaning jobs.

Current company uses IT on company-owned/provided computer (required). The platform is Word-based and has AutoCorrect, but IT is the expander company uses.

New company also will be company-owned/provided computer (required). The platform is the same, but they use AutoCorrect.

Is there any way to convert my IT expanders to AutoCorrect on current company's computer, then somehow transfer file (via email or whatever) to new company computer?

I don't think current company would allow new company to tap into their computer, so I'd have to do whatever is necessary on current computer.

I suppose I could get tech people from new company to walk me through it, but I'd prefer to try to do it myself.

I am REALLY tech challenged, so I'd appreciate any help :-)

Sorry, was going to reply by e-mail, but that option is not available on this post for some reason (maybe e-mail you used when posting?). Anyway, the resource I thought would have information available doesn't for this particular issue, so I'd say go with your tech support. You just need to get your .glo files into a text format (should open in Notepad, apparently) and then import those into Autocorrect (which I've done with old DocQscribe expansions). You need a macro for importing them, though, so this really starts to get complicated for someone who's at all tech un-savvy, sorry to say.

and continue to use your IT expanders on your new computer. You just need to have them on a flash drive and copy your glossary into the C:InstTextGlossary folder once you have downloaded the software.

But new computer is company issue and owned - tech clueless

They specified they use AutoCorrect only, and I'm not allowed to download any software other than what they have on computer.

Your suggestion definitely is what I would have preferred, but need to work with what I've got!!

I was just offered a job and the company uses Instant Text as their expander. I have over 1900 entries in Word's autocorrect in the MSO1033.acl file. This has probably been asked and answered a thousand times over, but can't seem to locate the results: Can I take my Word autocorrect and import the entries into Instant Text without have to copy and paste them in individually? I followed the instructions of a poster below for importing my .acl autocorrect to Instant Text V via the importer. It seemed to go. The question I have now is when I open Instant Text on the bottom right I see glossaries, the first glossary is for the transcription department of the company I will be working for. Hi everyone, I use both Word and WordPerfect. I have autocorrect entries in both Word and WordPerfect that I would like to transfer over to PC Shorthand. Anyone have any good websites for Instant text tutorial or questions? I did read through productivity talk and did find what I needed. I have not used this software in years. I use autotext, but I would like to use the line counting software that comes wtih IT. Just wondered about what you all think is the best expander to use with VR. I used to use Shorthand up to a couple of years ago and now work with Instant Text. It seems to me that Shorthand is very very popular with the VR crowd. Does anyone use Instant Text successfully with VR? I am looking for Instant Text users who may be able to get me headed in the right direction in regards to compilations. I have been using Instant Text for quite a while now, only adding things on the fly, or using the enrich feature. I do not understand the compilation feature it seems.
