I am looking for Instant Text users who may be able to get me headed in the right direction in regards to compilations. I have been using Instant Text for quite a while now, only adding things on the fly, or using the enrich feature. I do not understand the compilation feature it seems. Whenever, I try to utilize this feature I come up with phrases that I really will never hear again, odd things within reports. For example, the patient's dog's name - lol! I usually just take a sentence that I hear all the time and do an enrich on it. This is time consuming, and I am afraid I am missing out. Is it my settings? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Try using higher settings and then compare the glossaries to see which settings give you the results you want. Only you can tell which settings are best for you. You can delete the glossaries you don't want after you test out the settings.

The selection of which phrases will appear in a glossary depends on the value of the Minimum Word Frequency set in the Compilation Rules.
If you are finding that you are getting too many infrequent words after a compilation, the best would be to set the Minimum Word Frequency to a higher number such as 8.

This means that a word has to come up 8 or more times in the text file you compile before it is added to your glossary.

I now work where outside expanders are not an option and I'm beginning to think I can't even type without my Instant Text. Anybody else out there been through this and is there any hope at the end of the tunnel? I'm just finding it almost impossible to adapt, not to mention remember the shortcuts on a regular expander (AutoCorrect) - ugh! ...

Hi all, I am wondering if I can have Instant Text on 2 computers. I have added a part-time job, but I have to have IE8 or higher to be compatible, and my current job is only compatible with IE6. So, I am working on 2 computers. I have Instant Text on the computer with IE6 and would like to have it on my computer with IE8. I am lost without it. Anyone have any good websites for Instant text tutorial or questions? I did read through productivity talk and did find what I needed. I have not used this software in years. I use autotext, but I would like to use the line counting software that comes wtih IT. I am trying to figure out a short cut to copying text, right clicking on IT , clipboard statistics, and logging each note. Any thoughts on how to do this with keystrokes and NOT the mouse? Just wondered about what you all think is the best expander to use with VR. I used to use Shorthand up to a couple of years ago and now work with Instant Text. It seems to me that Shorthand is very very popular with the VR crowd. Does anyone use Instant Text successfully with VR? The version of IT I have (V Pro) does not have the recording functions and the ability to use shortcuts (like Alt+ and Control+) like Shorthand does. Does anyone use Instant Text with Probity's Integra platform? I just downloaded IT and am having a lot of difficulty using it. First, I had to set it to be on the right side of the screen because otherwise the time marker disappeared. Not a big deal though. I just signed up for the 30-day free trial of Instant Text. This is what I have found: * IT is faster than Shorthand. * IT has some good features that SH lacks. However, IT also has some annoying limiitations -- just like SH does -- as far as what you can name entries. For example, when naming an entry you can only use letters, numbers, _ and - .
