DigiTel dictation system quits running. Help - just me

I have a DigiTel dictation system, and it has simply shut off without warning lately, which has happened several times. I reboot frequently, and there is plenty of room on the computer. I have a 4-line system, which is fairly new. I had to replace the last one, which was malfunctioning after just a few months. This seems to be software-related however. Possible Microsoft security update being the cause? Today it shut down while a dictator was dictating several reports in a row.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Despite my service contract, I have not received any help on this issue.

If your pc posts the message "Windows has encountered a problem and is shutting down DigiTel", put c:ApptecDigiTelDigiTel.exe into Windows DEP (Data Execution Prevention) exception list. Windows DEP settings are in the Windows Control Panel, System, Advanced System Settings, Advanced tab, then click SETTINGS under Performance, then the Data Execution Prevention tab, then select Turn On DEP For All Programs Except Those I Select, then click ADD and then browse to c:ApptecDigiTelDigiTel.exe then click Apply then OK. Then if no one is calling into DigiTel, reboot your pc.

We did that, and it still is shutting down. Bill logged in today. It stopped running while my main "boss" was dictating several procedures. The software simply shuts down without warning. This has happened several times now.

DigiTel stopped running again this morning. It simply shut off by itself while my main dictator was dictating. This happened last Monday and the Monday prior to that also. I cannot babysit the screen 24/7. Tried the fix you gave, and Bill updated the software. My clients are getting very upset, as the lines do not pick up.

It shut off again today with memory error, etc. Looked it up and has to do with a driver needing to be reinstalled. We had fixed this previously, but my technician had me do a system restore and now I need to update the DigiTel software again. All Windows errors were fixed.

I will never understand why companies over hire, we were ontop of TAT. In 2 weeks we have gone from 100s of files to 20 and fighting each other for them. 1200 lines to 400 a day ? Amazing the amount of job hopping necessary to support our families as most of type long hours, low pay to support our families. I have an opportunity to get a brand new MAC as a gift. My boyfriend has an extra one. I work on the BeyondText platform and remember seeing someone on here had a MAC but had a way to split it so her Windows programs ran on the MAC somehow. Tech support at Transcend says it won't work on a MAC. Or maybe I was wondering if an external driver could be used that was Windows and would run on the MAC. Probably a pipe dream, but a MAC! ??? While working in 7.0 I get a message almost daily of saying an error occurred while runniing scripts on this page and do I want to continue to do so? Anyone else get this? I called x3 to support.
