lines per report - anon

I am noticing my line counts don't match for each report. I check the line count for each report and one was 70 lines but when I send the report, then immediately check ichart, it says 30 something lines. All the reports are almost half what they are when I check while I'm in the report before I send it compared to what ichart says. Can someone explain to me why the big difference? Am I missing something, other than possibly part of my pay???

What you see when you first pull in the report is the total lines BEFORE you edit. Unfortunately, most of these reports need extensive editing and deleting. What you see once it is sent is the end result once you are done editing. It stinks doesn't it? Obviously we are doing a lot of work to fix the report and we end up with less.

Be aware that because of this, sometimes I have ended up with NEGATIVE lines after completing the report. This happens if another MT starts the job and either loses it or ditches it. The first MT gets credit for it all, then when you edit and remove lines you will actually have a negative line count. Check carefully and in those cases with negative lines you can report it to get the correct lines.

Just before I send the report I check and then go straight to ichart and check, and the line count is always almost half of what it was just before I sent. I don't do that on every report, obviously, but I'm beginning to think I should.

Wish some of you would check yours and see if your line count on ichart is that much difference from what you get just before you send in your report. I don't understand why it would be that big of a difference.

Sorry. I'm with one of the companies that was bought out. We don't have ichart, but we can check the platform we do have prior to and after signing off a report, and it does match.

So, if I were you, I would ask my supervisor why the difference. Provide him with examples. Good luck. Let us know what you find out.

copying the report when done, minus any names, and paste it onto an online counter (search online for one). That way you can see how many characters are actually there and compare that to what you are being credited for. Maybe the other count includes headers/footers?

Make sure you log out before doing all of this because that 70 lines that turned into 30, just turned into 15.

How many lines do you average per day - VR and traditional? I know it's been VERY slow lately, but when things are going well, how many lines do you normally get? so I get my offer from MedQuist today after they acquired AllType. In order to qualify for benefits, I have to type 150 lines per hr or do voice recognition editing at 350 per hr. I don't know if I can do this. On a good account, no problem. But ASR on accounts I have been doing are ridiculous, so many random errors, no way you can skim through them. Any body out there that consistently gets these line counts every week without working more than 39 hrs per week ...

how they calculate your lph rate now? Minimum is 100 clph. I'm wondering b/c since they half the speech lines, this does not seem to be your true accurate LPH. For instance if I type 100 in an hour and do 100 speech in the same hour, do they strictly look at that and say your LPH is 200 OR do they say 100 for regular, only 50 for speech, so your LPH is 150?
