complained about fracture notes - Aaron

All I did was tell the AM that I log off for the short fracture notes because they don't pay (don't we all?). Next thing I know HER boss is emailing me about how they are going to be monitoring me for this now, and how unprofessional it is to log off for jobs I don't like and that I better shape up or else. I admit it was an obnoxious, albeit honest, thing for me to say, but does she have to run to her boss about it instead of telling me herself? I am really mad at Accentus now. I think I need to look around. It is none of their business when we take our breaks anyway. Logging off for the bad notes is not cheating, it is strategy, that's all. We are trying to make a living here.

You're not screwing over the "cheerleaders," you're screwing over the whole rest of your team. Do you really think your crappy throwbacks are going to who you want them to, just by some magical force? No. They're going to no one knows who, and you obviously don't care. Do us all a favor and find another job that you can excel at so you don't make our jobs worse than they already are!

You admit to your boss that you log out so you don't have to do a specific work type and then are surprised when they call you out on it. Unless it specifically states it in your contract that you don't do those notes then you should damn well shut up and do them as I am sure everybody doesn't enjoy them either and yet you feel justified dumping these notes off on someone else.....yeah you get the stupid idiot hat of the day

I have been going through this with someone on my account and it is not okay. NO, we do not all do it! You take the good with the bad. You don't leave all the bad to someone else. How would you feel if the rest of the team decided to play your game and you were left with nothing but the bad?? What gives you the right to pick and choose? Please do look for somewhere else to go. Well, Aaron, I used to work for Accentus and they are a VERY team-oriented company. Cherry-picking as you describe would not be tolerated there. They firmly believe that everyone pitches in to do their fair share.

I see a lot of posts on here about companies that look the other way when it comes to picking those cherry reports, but Accentus is not one of those. To be perfectly frank, if I were you, I'd be prepared to be unceremoniously fired in the very near future. They indeed will monitor your behavior closely, as it is so unfair to everyone else on that account who probably also despise those short little notes but do not have the audacity to skip them.

The only reason I left Accentus was because it was a part-time gig for me, and my schedule changed and I no longer had the free time. Otherwise, I'd probably still be working for them. Not trying to hurt your feelings here, dude, but I applaud them for reprimanding you on your behavior.

I used to specialize in op notes but for the past 3 years I have not found a company where I could solely specialize in op notes so I have kinda gotten rusty. I have a chance to get in with an MT company that also offers their ICs a chance at live note taking. It doesn't pay too good, though, less than what the standard reports pay per audio minute. Did anyone else get the speech again about pend notes being too long? I can understand why they want us to be "professional" about it but if there is an ODD problem (and there always is!), how am I supposed to tell them? I lost my primary accounts recently and was switched to an account where most of the jobs are really short clinic-type notes (less than a minute). This pay period, my paycheck will be over $200 less than it was when I had my primary accounts, and I'm barely making my minimum line counts. Has anyone started to get more work in the last year (in a clinic setting)? It was steady for me a few years ago, and now I am overwhelmed with the amount of dictation I have!! Each of the doctors I work for are seeing wayyy too many patients in one day, thus more dictating, etc. Im putting in like 10-12 hour days now, whereas I used to only work 5 or 6. I'm curious about something and I hope you all can clarify it for me. I've always understood that when using a SOAP format, you do not use headings such as HPI, physical examination, review of systems, etc. I've got a situation at work where initially we were to use HPI, ROS, PE, etc., no matter what the dictator said.
