I feel like saying:
Hey, no thanks, I already have 4 accounts, 2 of which I have no interest in.
Here's an idea, how about you get all those people on my accounts, which I have been doing for years, off of them, so that I can have my work back?
How about you get them off my accounts and give THEM the new accounts? I have enough trouble making decent line counts at all because:
(a) no work because overstaffed on my primary.
(b) secondary and tertiary accounts unfamiliar and pages of new specs so even they slow me down.
So I am going to jump at yet another new account?
How do they figure being so picky with QA and docking our pay with FIESA equals we are all going to jump at yet more accounts?
Do they not get that familiarity with accounts and dictators is one of the only ways to make a little money nowadays?
Obviously, who they must NEVER ask about how to structure pay/scheduling and accounts is those of us who it is mainly affecting. Want to make a bet they have absolutely NO MTs advising them at all?
Still, get a clue, Nuance. Here's one: NOBODY wants new accounts when you are going to jump all over them with QA and take away even more money, so how's about at the very least taking the newer MTs and giving THEM the new accounts for a change instead of overstaffing on the established MT accounts?

[ In Reply To ..]Of spreading work so thin on the ground we are all forced to do multiple accounts, maybe a TSM who uses this strategy and sees no problem with it (that TSM is obviously NOT a former MT), OR someone who never has work and upon requesting gets no new accounts.
That last one I just don't understand, as it has not happened to me (yet?). I see people saying that on here, but I really have problems with just doing crappy work, having NO work at all is simply not a JOB at all.
Sometimes I do wonder how many of us just don't need the money that much and hence this has become such a typical pink collar profession whereby they justify treating us like garbage because we just take it, more and more and it never ends (well, at least I can be home with my kids; well, it is just supplemental to my DH's income; well, at least I don't have the costs of commuting, etc., ad nauseam).
I myself (as most of us, I assume) am guilty of some of those but at least I don't feel I have to kiss Nuance's butt about it. Those who are rah rah despite the abuse are scary.

This past pay cut has put me over the edge, yes for me it will be a pay cut. This is why. I work on a huge account. A huge account allowing zero or 1 blank only with the majority of the dictations being over 10 minutes (at least what I pull constantly, daily) with big lines. Most of the work I have are ESLs, although they claim the ESLs on my account are a very low number. I must just be the lucky one that always gets them, daily. This big account also allows for many, many doctors and facilities to go further into specifics of what they want and this changes from doctor to doctor.
I too am guilty of the excuses; at least I don't have to pay for daycare, at least I don't have to pay for gas to get back and forth to work and clothes, etc. I have downplayed myself and made excuses on myself to make sense of the constant lower pay. I have felt many times well geez maybe I am just not good enough to cut it in this industry, while I have been doing this for over a decade. I have accepted their treatment that if I am not perfect, then I am only worth minimum wage, yet I know I am worth more than minimum wage.
Why yes they did state that we can make whatever we want, but we are only guaranteed minimum wage. How do we get to make more...well we can have perfect QA and have less than 10% QC..try doing that on an account that nearly every doctor wants something specific, different and for goodness sakes if you miss something so damn minor they are going to nail you on points. Try sending long dictations to QC for blanks that were unavoidable or other issues that were out of your control. There goes your 10%. But, in their defense (that is funny) at least they are following the law and offering us the minimum that we are worth and truly they don't even feel we are worth that. If that were the case, there wouldn't even be such thing as make up pay. I can't wait to get out of here.

Besides all that, they should not even be put on my team. We've lost accounts and there is not enough work to go around for all of us. I'm not going to stick around and take this abuse any longer. Slightly paranoid about being audited now since I'm reporting NJA instead of working 24/7. It's amazing just how many reminder emails we get and how many minute details for each account. I'm forwarding to my email to have just in case I'm ever managed out and need to defend myself along with the good and sometimes bad audits I've had. I'm human. Just recently our QC sent out an email to an MT in our group for a HIPAA error and blind copied all the MT/MME in the BOB. This poor MT would never have known unless others came forward and reported that they got this email in error. Make sure that if you get an email it is only coming to you. I really hope she files a complaint with HR for shaming her in front of her peers. Don't look, don't share apparently does not apply to anyone other than MT/MME. ...
