I got fired! And the best part of it is I get to collect UE because the HR witch is too ignorant to go about it in the right way. The feeling of relief is so overwhelming and now I am free to pursue other employment. Thanks so much Nuance for getting something right for me! Mission accomplished. Yeah me!!

I would not be broadcasting that I got fired . . . I would be embarrassed. I say the "dislike" was legit.

IMHO. If you are embarrassed because you got fired in a job like this, does anyone know? Not really. If you are praised and told you are great continuously yet never, ever rewarded financially or in any other way, does anyone know? Not really.

So let's be proud of our still highly skilled jobs that were once highly paid, but getting fired and not having to quit in this profession has become an achievement of its own. In their determination to pay as little as possible for us MTs at all, their ultimate insult is to find any way possible to hound you into quitting and deprive you of UE.

So I, for one, congratulate her and wish her well.

money, benefits and self worth from me that, yes, getting fired and collecting some UE and getting some "paid" time off is absolutely worth celebrating. I have never in my 55 years of life been "let go" so I know I'm a good employee. I feel that I won this war with Nuance. thanks again for your moral support.

are going to win. They have beaten so many down who quit so they don't have to pay UE that a few stragglers who refuse to quit and end up getting fired are to be expected. I picture Nuance to have a graft that measures this. The list of the people they forced to quit is in green and the people fired that they have to pay UE for in red indicating a loss for them. The graft is high at the top for the quitters in green (green meaning more money for them) and the red for the fired is at the bottom of the graft and very little at that. Month after month the green always seems to win. Go reds!!!

UE is for people who have lost their job through NO Fault of their own. As in, a lay off, or a company bankruptcy. It's not for people who were fired because they did something like not show up for work, or didn't meet their performance.

That's why I offered a warning. I just wouldn't want to be in her position if it comes back to bite the OP. Especially if the reason her UE was approved is because some HR person didn't file the right form.

Happy for you that you got out. And compensated. And I'm sure UE will pay you more than CPL ever did.

I'm at the end of my rope myself. I'm not a Nuancer, but my QA went down half a percentage point so my CPL (after 3 years mind you) went down 1 penny, well times 1 penny times my required line count and my paychecks are about $100 less each payday. It adds up. So bogus!

Anyway, hooray, no NJA on Thanksgiving Day! Good for you! Happy early Christmas present to you!

you. These companies are so horrible. And why is it always right before the holidays? Seems they get a peculiar joy out of hitting us in the pocketbooks right before the holidays. Sick people they are. Well, keep looking for other work. There are some out there. I'm applying today for a few. Hopefully, something better will come of this.

they fired me but, knowing first hand that HR trolls this site, that would leave me open to their vengance, which I really don't want to deal with any longer.

I don't know if it's the same HR person I'm thinking of, but she was worthless and condescending. I had a meeting set up with her and my supervisor a year and a half ago or so. She gave me the number to call, which I did promptly at the allotted time, only to find out that the number she gave me was incorrect. In the meantime, as I'm waiting for the correct number, I get an IM that says "Where are you? We're WAITING FOR YOU." As if their time is so important... But don't bother falling all over yourself to apologize to me for giving me the wrong number in the first place and then being rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't have bought it as a sincere apology anyway.

I have to say the stress level went down almost immediately. I went on to be a CNA and though physically harder work, there is room for growth financially and moving up into another position. Not so with Nuance. Growth potential at this place was zero-more like they try to keep you held down as much as possible. I loved transcription when I started 10 years ago, but this company made me dread even looking at my computer. Good luck to all those who are still here. Prayers for you as you struggle ...

the summer. I took a couple months to find a new job. When I did, unfortunately, the only thing out there was transcribing so, I reluctantly took the job. I was absolutely floored. They are without a doubt the best company I have ever worked for. They don't do off shoring or use MTs from India/in India. I just got a gift card in the mail from them! My boss is wonderful.
