These post audits are getting ridiculous - Justme

Posted: Jul 03, 2013

I've had 20 audits in 3 days now, all 99% or higher score with 1 critical error that was really a questionable typo I haven't had time to pull to see if I agree with....think of the money they'd save not QA'ing us to death here.  I've been with the company for years, never failed audits and this is getting almost abusive by them to waste my time sending me this crap which I then have to spend my time, on my own cost, to research and challenge their mistakes in the audits - which I always find.

I'm about ready to have a "send everying to QA claiming I need 100% review for accuracy" day to get even with them.

You could email your supervisor - or the QA

supervisor and politely ask if there is hourly compensation for your extra time spent on these audits. Of course there isn't, but it might make them back off a bit.

I am experiencing the same thing. I don't even go in to look at them anymore. I refuse to spend my own time to look. If reviewing them is required, then they need to pay me for my wasted time.

Am I reading this right? That the more QC pick apart a document (including errors that don't affect patient care), the more they make? T

Wow, this is scary! It's bad enough as it is with the nitpicking! I wonder how far away we are from "finding" errors that were never there to begin with.

So how do we go about - ???

[ In Reply To ..]
protecting ourselves. Keep a copy of every report? Can we do that?!
Protection - Chavera

I used to think the only protection I needed was the faith I and my company had in my ability to do this work. I tried one day making a list (using numbers, no names) of any report I might have had a small problem with (including in the header) but the time involved was just incredible! After seeing the aggressive ad for QC people to come in and make money finding "errors", I am worried sick. This has just been a really, really bad week. And I want to tell you, I want my work to be 100% perfect! I think transcriptionists are perfectionists! I don't know what the answer is.

keep a copy as long as you don't keep the demographics. That's what I started doing today and if I catch someone messing around with what I sent in I'll have the proof. I'm tired of the games they're pulling lately.

That is an extremely bad idea. You know some will - create errors if a bonus hinges on it.

[ In Reply To ..]
Whoever came up with this idea is an imbecile. Not only will most of us begin to fail all of our audits (which I know is their real goal) but that will then make the stats the hospitals look at look bad. You don't create an incentive that is based on finding "errors."

If this is true, this is going to turn out very, very bad.
this is true - I agree
[ In Reply To ..]
Its going to be very bad. Nuance will lose accounts over this very issue. Who Iisn't smart enough to figure out that by doing it this way you are encouraging the transcriptionist to guess rather then leave a blank. QA is no longer an ally of the MLS but instead will now feed off of them. I feel like road kill and the crows are circling.

Onshore Post Audits??/
Nov 10, 2013

Anybody getting these now??  Instead of just explaining my error or what they believe is an error - I am getting a 4 paragraph explanation for each one.  I certainly don't mind criticism but I feel like I am being talked to like a 2 year old who has done something wrong.  It is amazing to me how they hear something completely different than what I heard and I am told I should have left a blank if I felt there was a problem.  Do they not realize that if I felt there WAS a ...

Has Anyone Else Been Getting 10 Times More Post Audits Than Usual??
Nov 30, 2012

I am getting audited 5 jobs a day at least.  This is FAR FAR more than ever before. I used to get maybe 1 or 2 a week. I am also noticing much higher dings on these audits.  In the same report I got an error for not ADDING an and that was not dictated and then got dinged for ADDING an and that had been dictated.  Is this verbatim OR NOT!!! Anyway, it just seems that there is a A LOT more QA auditing happening than usual.  Just me??? ...

Post Audits On Primary And Secondary....
Mar 14, 2013

I know 2 other MTs who have noticed the same thing.  We have not had a single post audit on our primary accounts but let us do 5 reports on our secondaries and we'll get audited on it.  We presume they do that trying to "get you" to keep you from getting the bonus for QA.  For example I worked on my secondary Monday - first time in 2 weeks, did 3 reports and 1 got post audited on 1.   ...

Anyone Have Post Audits That Is Longer Than 75 Or 100 Lines?
Mar 10, 2015

I have gone back and looked at my post audits and since this new pay plan has gone into place, they have only 1 time edited a job that was over 100 lines (103 lines) all the rest are between 25 and 50 or so lines which I find quite ironic.  They can say random all they want but this is in no way random.  They pick the smaller reports so that even a 0.25 mistake has the biggest impact on us.  Their games are so so petty for a so called company.  They are clearly only out for t ...

Reversals On Post Audits Are Virtually Impossible?
Aug 08, 2012

So from new info I just got, post audit scores are virtually impossible to reverse.  So apparently the people in that deptartment, QA or QC - whicever it is, must be Goddesses as that would imply they never make mistakes.  Our bonuses hinge entirely on these particular audits and they are WRITTEN IN STONE.  I find this kind of outrageous.   There is no human being who is perfect, so I have to assume that Nuance has hired this crew from Mt Olympus (I suppose they m ...

This Is Ridiculous
Mar 01, 2011

Pinging in and out. Getting booted off. Losing reports. And what slow reports are coming through are all wrong...wrong patients...wrong data in ASR. Thanks MQ. All I want to do is WORK! ...

This Is Just Getting Ridiculous--sm
Feb 14, 2015

My team is required to be signed into a conference in Spark when working our account.  That is not a bad thing, in fact it is quite educational because I am seeing just how ridiculous everything is.  The account is verbatim, you only type a heading if it is dictated.  Someone is worried that the doctor said Procedure for a heading naming the procedure and then later used procedure when beginning the real procedure.  That MT was worried about getting dinged if she changed the ...

Ridiculous Reduction In Pay
Jul 28, 2010

As with most of you, my pay from Medquist has taken a total nose dive ever since ASR went to 85% while at the same time cutting our transcription rate down for ASR from 70% to 60%.  That's a 40% pay cut!!!  I've had to take another job elsewhere to try to make ends meet.  Besides that, our health benefits are the absolute worst and get worse every year.  Can anyone ever remember any kind of cost of living raise?   I used to make $36,000 annu ...

MT Companies And Ridiculous TATs
Oct 08, 2010

I had a very odd thing happen last night, a doctor was complaining about the quick turnaround on the reports! Work has been very low at my company, which is the result of overhiring and having way too many MTs on the accounts, and my company does this purposely in order to get really quick (as in immediate) TATs. So, I'm transcribing reports last night as they trickle in, if I can grab them in time before another MT gets them, and one of the reports that I got was a consult.  At both ...
