Starting shift - OOW - ss

We have been told TSM working with HR to make sure people are consistently meeting standards and how we will be disciplined if we don't. Great TSM, so am sure this is mandatory wording from above. We are low on work, they have hired too many people in anticipation of quitters during the new compensation plan and I assume they are now getting ready to "purge the work force". Heaven help us all.

The real way to make money with this new plan is through production since QA can bite you in the butt at any time, so more of us are doing more lines than ever before creating a shortage of work. We are told to flex, well we do and it infringes on the next shift. They flex and it infringes on the shift after them. Where does this end?

Unfortunately we are all being forced to feel cut throat or starve. Hoping a few people leave to make more work for the rest of us. What a way to live.

Poor management from top to bottom and also supers not willing to listen to/try ideas/suggestions presented from MLSs.

No. As QC, when we run out of work we cannot - just move to type without

TSM (for the accts) approval. If work is light, we then have to just punch out and use PTO or flex. I don't know what will happen though as QC moves to production. They will have to provide work at that point so it's anyone's guess.

They are supposed to provide work for us too - or else what is a job?

Yet they don't. I am at the end of my tether here and looking into partial UE, but I would really really REALLY rather have some work to do.

If you are on production, take your licks just like we do. Maybe TSMs are letting you all in our pools right now if you are hourly and that is why we are so low. Makes sense for Nuance to do that and avoid paying you for doing nothing and giving us nothing to be paid for. GRRRRR...

since probably mid december, most days are about equal split between typing/mls work and actual qc work since everything is so slow... our tsm's actually setup pool scripts for us so regular typing will autoDL and we don't need to keep pinging them every few hours to assign more typing jobs.

Makes sense if they are paying you by the hour, they would send the actual typing to you rather than us since they are paid at a higher rate. Not picking an argument, you all are doing exactly as you are directed to. We are all in this crazy circus. Have a good day and thanks for sharing.

Perhaps, the severe weather that they are having in the east is having an impact on our work loads. I watched the news this morning and many businesses are suffering. Maybe clinics, etc., are seeing less patients due to the severe weather conditions. Just my opinion.

tail spin. Their stats are good on VR and they actually called off OT on Sat this week because of less work. Can't say I like VR yet, but seems the pools are getting better. Maybe the worst is past and we are going to go back up again. Lots of work, so can't complain.
