It doesn't take a PhD in psychology to figure out that if someone is beaten down long enough, that person will begin to believe they are inferior, they will lose self-confidence in their job and their mistakes will increase. The punitive effects of FIESA on behavior and morale will ultimately manifest in more errors. As a result, some of those errors will find their way to patients' charts. Most of us used to receive praise, gratitude and a decent way to make a living. Morale was good. We were proud of our job and proud of our employer. We worked very hard and always answered the call of duty when overtime was requested. We were rewarded with respect, sincere (not empty) thank-yous and again, a decent pay check, not some piddly pay check worthy of a sign spinner job.
