Is anybody happy at Nuance...seriously? - MT

I am just curious, how on earth does this company or any of the other well known nasties stay in business? You would think eventually they would all run out of MTs to go through and then what? Most of them say, or at least I think I have read they say, they won't hire newbies for the most part. By the way, you all warned me about another one of the big nasties and most people only lasting a few weeks but I went, "Pshaw...that won't happen to me." But alas, it did... just not as fast. I lasted 5 months before I told them to stick it. Maybe this is what everyone else is doing?...thinking the posts here are all from naysayers, just like I did, only to find out it is true? What an industry.

Companies like this have ruined our industry. The people I really feel sorry for are the patients whose medical records are being butchered.

I used to really care but now I don't. I won't be working at Nuance much longer. I can't stand what it is doing to me. Just not worth it.

Even the Indian MTs are complaining about how little they make now! Seriously. I heard it through the grapevine. I work at Precyse...what a big ole NASTY that place is. Horrid.

I hate it here! A lot. You've posed a through-provoking post. How DO they stay in business? It really must be the "global partners". I hear rumors that the Indian MTs are increasingly unhappy with how they are paid. It will be interesting to see what becomes of Nuance and how this all plays out. A company simply cannot run this way indefinitely--they will implode. I'll be laughing on the sidelines though as I am here only long enough to finish schooling. I absolutely cannot wait--both to be out of here and to witness Nuance's demise. I hate feeling that way, but they have treated people really badly for so long. They are a horrid company who steals from it's employees and they absolutely deserve what's coming their way.

They stay in business by selling the software that unemploys you. - Software systems sold, MTs used as pawns.

MTs are the only ones suffering. Well, now maybe QC people are too.

Oh, and they don't know it yet, but each level of the hierarchy that knowingly toys with employees' lives like this, they will suffer the weight of their conscience someday.

I would be happy if they paid more. Other than the pay, I have no complaints. But pay is, of course, a major issue in regards to a job.

I like Nuance, just concerned about the pay and insurance but other than that I like it. I have a great manager and have had a good experience with the people there. They seem real organized and professional.

I am not happy at Nuance. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful to have a job. The only reason I am at Nuance is because I came with a buyout and could not find anything else before the decision deadline. Our job market was plain stale at the time. It has since improved somewhat, and despite many applications, I either hear nothing back or get an email saying they have went with another applicant.

This place has a way of making one feel like a POS transcriptionist when before there were no issues with your work whatsoever. I had no issues, normally between 98 and 99% QA score. Now, that's not so. I have to work now 3x as hard for not even half of what I made previously and don't get me started on the benefits.

How anybody could be happy at a place that purposefully brings one down is beyond me. They steal wages, beat you up in FIASCO, and just generally treat you like a doormat. It's MTSOs like this that has brought a once reputable career to shambles...bringing wages to rock bottom as well as motivation. It does not help that physicians are not held responsible for their end of things. It's our fault of our ears are not good enough to hear that crappy ESL doctor, the mumbler trying to eat her lunch, the whisperer, or the on-the-go doctor dictating on their cellphone in the middle of the boonies somewhere with crappy reception. It's all our fault.

Had I known now what I didn't know then, I would have selected a different industry to work in. Oh well, I got 8 years and some good experience. But nobody should have to experience what these hell holds dish out. Modern slavery at its best.

I filled out a "profile" at Nuance a few weeks ago, not sure if I was interested in a job there or not.  I was contacted a week later with a couple of offers pending passing their test.  I was not interested with the two positions offered, but she suggested I take the test anyway in case a position opened up that I was interested in. So much negativity on this board. Is anyone happy here? I can say that I am grateful for my job here at Nuance. I don't feel the QA is out to get me. My mistakes are my mistakes. Work is there. My TSM is wonderful. I get good PTO hours. I have had some bad QA weeks and have been frustrated but I have sat down and focused on how to make this better. In this day and age, all I see is "sad" MTs and, in my opinion, if "Happy Transcriptions" is still happy, they can only be messing even more with us poor "sad" MTs. I've been at TTS for almost 3 years and I have nothing but positive things to say about TTS.  I never have to guess what TTS expects from me, and I do my best to deliver that on a consistent basis.  Communication flows freely and efficiently.  My team leader and 2 shift leads are EXCELLENT managers in my opinion.  Everything I invest in my job comes back to me and then some.  I can recommend TTS to anybody unapologetically. ...
