How many times have you fallen below - 99% QA for the week?

Posted: Mar 19, 2015

UGH -- I am feeling sick with myself -- it looks like it'll be 2 weeks in a row that I have "fallen off the grid" and had below 99% QA.  I do NOT want to lose my job.  I know Nuance has plenty of issues, but I still like my hours, my accounts, and have not had many problems.

When do you start getting reprimanded or whatever for being below 99%?

I have fallen off the grid for leaving out 2 words on 1 report - "he" and "very"

[ In Reply To ..]
As in "very" tired of this. One short report. Part-time worker. These two 0.25 point errors cost me 100$ and threw me below 99% for the week. WOW. Did not get a reprimand but have only done it once (twice?). Two weeks in a row may very well trigger a reprimand.

I've gotten dinged for leaving out words too and it really surprises me... - GW

I can't believe I missed words. I feel like I am so careful. Short of re-listening to the entire report after typing it, I don't know how to make it perfect.

Reprimanding - HangingInThere

Well keep in mind they do want people to fall of the grid and so they can put out as little money as possible. I have also fallen off the grid a couple weeks in a row and have been fine. Don't sweat it too much or the stress might increase your mistakes. You've got this!

Please do NOT blame yourself - that is what they want

[ In Reply To ..]
Ask yourself, if you were so horrible, why don't they fire you?

This is not about you being horrible, this is about them wanting to take money off you and wanting you to believe it is your fault. It is not. I would wager they could find something wrong with every single report if they wanted to, and I would also wager they probably do try very hard to when they want to take money off you.

They will NEVER reprimand you, believe me. I must have had many weeks where they got me and I would have been way under 99%, but no reprimand at all.

I think they know their little nitpicky garbage is not serious, no matter that they call the errors CRITICAL and MAJOR. They are not that. I would guess the only time you would be reprimanded is when you send a cc out to the wrong doc or something like that, wrong patient sent to facility, things like that. But I think we all know most of the errors are nothing like that, just silly little garbage.

The sooner you realize it's not you, it's them, that the only reason for FIESA to exist is NOT to improve you as an MT but to TAKE MONEY OFF YOU for making minuscule errors that have very little or nothing to do with patient safety, the better you will feel.

Then, of course, you get the paycheck. No way to make you feel better about that unfortunately, but blaming yourself is definitely their aim. Don't do it!!!

Worst case scenario is that the TSM has you attend--sm - anon

the Boost class on Quality. I would not worry too terribly much.

I go back and forth - newbutold

I go up and down. Don't sweat it. One week I am a golden child and the next week I am treated like the scum of the earth. Such a stupid game they play. I just type and don't worry about it. So far the most is I got an email saying Tsk Tsk you fell below our percentage, blah blah blah. I don't let it get to me anymore. Fire me if you must but I will not quit and lose UE. I have already contacted UE office locally and as long as they fire me then I can claim UE with no problem. I have told such to my TSM who is nice and I like her a lot and she doesn't like this crap anymore then we do but she needs her job like we all do. Nuance is the worst company to work for that is for sure

How Low Have We Fallen?
May 22, 2014

This comment, inside a thread below, really hit me.  I always suspect that comments like these are posted by either HR or social media dept inside Nuance.  Of course, that is really unknowable.  But just for the sake of discussion, let's assume that this actually is the sentiment of a real, flesh and blood Nuance transcriptionist.  Is this the "new normal" for an MT ... to have an employer meets payroll !#:??#! Yikes. "I work for Nuance too, and I have, to date, had onl ...

Are The Times A Changin'?

The recent ad onthe Job Wanted Board for Oncology scribes prompted me to check a couple of employment search sites.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were many ads for, not just "Scribes" but now for "Scribe/Medical Transcriptionist."  There are facilities looking for people they can hire directly to input in real time to their EMS.  There were several for Oncology and Emergency Medicine.  Have they finally seen the light??   MTSOs are trying to sell us ...

A few times already I noticed that Teamwork sometimes changes my times.  Today I clocked in at "9:06" and I diligently wrote down the time as I always do.  When I went to clock off, it said my clock-in time was "9:07."  I read somewhere that our times are rounded to the nearest minute but then why isn't it always done?  ...

Let Go Three Times And Called Back Again
May 04, 2010

Why does an employer, who let you go three times in three different type of work settings, yet call me back again to work for them? It is like they had a layoff a year ago with all this BS in mind. They have to know that I would hate to go back there with all this wishy-washy stuff; it is almost like they did it on purpose so that it would be a year and they could see if they could get something for nothing. Pay Rate Not Keeping Up With The Times
Jan 20, 2011

I have been an MT since 1986. I would like to know why the MT industry does not raise pay rates for MTs to keep up with the rising cost of living? Are we expected to just work longer hours in order to raise our pay? I see job openings offering 7 cpl! This is ridiculous! I have never made more than 9.5 cpl.  We all know the companies are raising their contract rates for clients and making a killing, so why is our industry becoming such a slave-driving industry and what can we do about it?
