Had the following corrected in FIESA.... - so ridiculous....

Posted: Jan 25, 2015

An ESL dictator said, "patient no more on anticoagulation."

I put, "patient no LONGER on anticoagulation."

It was changed to "more" like the dictator did say, but of course that is incorrect English usage.  No matter--it was marked as a "verbiage error."

I should have known.  How can the VR get trained if we correct even obvious errors like this?

This is really humiliating to have to actually transcribe like this.

Machine work more cheaper !!

I have an example of Fiesa insanity too. Dig this crazy - "correction."

In an echo where the dimensions are actually dictated first, then the interpretation section...

I typed:

LV dimensions and wall thickness are _____ normal. (blank because according to the dimensions just dictated "normal" might not be true).

This is the "correction" offered:

LV dimensions and wall thickness is normal.

No blank for the questioned result and a singular verb form for a compound subject.

I mean this is 5th grade English skill stuff!

That's what happens when most QAs are ESL too, it - sounds correct to them. nm

Yes, don't get me started on how ridiculous this - CINDY

Don't get me started on how ridiculous this is. I got RBC changed to rbc, and it changed to they. They are just so nitpicking. Everytime I see one of those errors I just want to quit right on the spot. Even though the sentence means the same thing. I also can't stand that word verbiage.

Triple A - SM

Back when I worked there, the post-audit team would give me an error for changing "triple A" to AAA. It's not an insurance company. That was one of my turning points. I quit reading my E-mails entirely, quit looking at FIESA and got out of there as soon as I was offered a job.

I wish I could ignore Fiesa too-- but what - happens if you do?

Won't your TSM know?

The larger issue now is that pay is related to FIESA--sm - anon

so if you ignore it, it could potentially impact your paycheck. Before the current pay plan, I generally ignored it until there were FIESA compliance reports. Then, I just checked it once a week.

I check it more frequently now but I just focus on the post-audit reports. There have been a few things I have challenged successfully. The only time I check the QC1 or QA reports is if I have errors that have to be signed off. Unfortunately, ignoring it is no longer a truly viable option.

Corrected Incorrectly?
Jan 17, 2011

So I have a pretty good editor, I don't dislike him at all. Every once in a while though, he will correct something that I didn't do wrong, either by missing something else in the report, or just marking something red that I had already typed in my original report becuase it was left next to another blank, etc. This has only happened about 3 times in 4 months, but it concerns me because it is very important to me that I look good and maintain high quality standards so that I can get wh ...

QA Corrected One Of My Reports
Feb 13, 2015

The doctor was so bad and the dictation was super scratchy.  I thought for sure it was: "blood pressure 140/62" after listening to it after QA it turned out to be: "blood pressure 144/62" QA corrected it as:  "blood pressure 1144/62" ARE YOU KIDDING ME???  I know my number was wrong, my mistake, but at least my number wasn't 1000 mmHg off!  This back and forth thing is getting so old... ...

Corrected Errors On Draft

Do any of you feel that errors you've corrected on the edit drafts disappear?  Have you gotten marked off for errors that you are sure you corrected? Why Did I Look At FIESA????
Aug 26, 2012

I knew I shouldn't have looked at my FIESA from Saturday but I did.  Majority are 100% so for that I am grateful but THEN there are the others where you are marked off for stuff that make no sense and then there are the stupid errors that I did and will own up to and wonder where my brain was when I was typing - I think my brain was so worried about being marked off for every little thing that I honestly can't concentrate sometimes like I need to. ...

FIESA...
Sep 14, 2012

I know we complain and complain about this on here and we fight and argue with the TLs about this...I was marked off half a point for EACH blank that I left on a dictation that the tape cut out.  The only explanation from QA was that "it was clearly understood".  I am just wondering how it was clearly understood.  I went back and listened to the tape and sure enough where I had blanks, the tape was cutting out.  So why am I being marked off for blanks.  Then on a few ot ...

May 30, 2013

Okay, first quarter FIESA reviewed about 80 reports of mine and I actually got my incentive.  Now for this quarter, I am wavering on not getting my incentive with a 98.88 and for the past few weeks they have not reviewed a single one of my reports.  I smell something fishy.  This whole FIESA thing is to a) review enough reports a quarter so you fall below 99 and then b) if you are below 99, stop reviewing reports so you are stuck there with no chance to bring it up!  How fric ...

ANOTHER FIESA LIE
Jun 28, 2013

our post-audit reports are randomly pulled.  If you score high enough to get the bonus, your reports are gone through by the hatchet queens in India until they can find a report they can "audit" to bring you below 99%.  If you are kicked back to 98.99%, they still meet their contract requirements to the client, and Nuance does not have to pay you a bonus.  ...

I almost always get my critical errors on one particular doctor who I think I understand and then it turns out I miss something.  I think there is a way to do a report on critical errors and see if I can trend the dictator but I can't figure out how.  Does anybody know?  And before you tell me to ask my TSM I did but as usual never got an answer. ...

FIESA AND QA- SM
Oct 08, 2013

Much as I dislike FIESA and all this QA, what I really hate is finding out I've been typing something WRONG for 30 years.  The only thing I can say for myself is some QA decades ago filled it in for me and I didn't look it up.  Been typing Campo's fascia instead of Camper's fascia. Took a 1-point post-audit hit on it, too.  Shakes me up, what else have I been doing wrong for 30 years?  And will it knock me out of bonus territory next quarter... ...

NOT LOOKING AT FIESA
Apr 01, 2014

I must admit, I never looked at FIESA, not only because it was depressing and humiliating, but its not the most user friendly site. I wish I could get out of this company. It's depressing, demeaning and humiliating. ...

Take THAT Fiesa!
Apr 27, 2014

Just for "fun," I counted how many times I prevented a critical patient safety error today by catching the speaker saying the wrong age, gender, right vs. left, hyper versus hypo, you get the picture.  I quit counting at 8.  Never in my many years at Nuance have I made 8 CPSEs in 1 day.  So are we getting credit for the good work we do?  Not very likely. ...

Grading With FIESA
May 08, 2012

Are there no B's given on this?  I have checked it each day since I started (which was just a few days ago).  I either have A's or C's (with a percentage of 97 or 98%).  Today I typed 27 reports and got 100% accuracy on 25 of those and 2 that had C's but my overall grade was a C!!!  What am I missing.  Since I am technically still on 90 day "probation" it worries me.  I am typing well over the line count required and have made no "major" mistakes ...
