I had a terrible experience and thankfully moved on.  Believe everything you hear about this company and make your own informed decision.  All you have to do is believe that most people who work there are DISSATISFIED.  Yes, it's true.   I can't tell you what to do, but if I could I would tell you to seek employment elsehwere.  I only wish I had been forewarned 3 years ago.   I think all of you contemplating employment with Nuance should consider yourselves lucky to be forewarned.  

A lot of people post asking the same question and I understand that.  I only come back here to warn people NOT to take a job with Nuance; that should tell you something.  There are other options for employment.  You don't have to be happy that you just have a job.  There is more to life than dreading going to work every day and counting the minutes until your day is over, if you have any work to begin with (most of it is sent to India).

You didn't say what you didn't like. What about the scores of happy transcribers who don't follow the forums and read all the negatives. If you have a gripe, be specific.

How about inconsistent work pattern, low pay range, - outtaheresoon

nit-picky report audits, having to sit all day on low work days just to get a paycheck you can survive on (not live cause this job is not living, it is merely surviving), being forced to use up your PTO to fill in gaps of low work volumes and then no PTO for family time (although they do give a special day a week to their India workers just to be with family), requiring higher line count and accuracy for less money...You asked for specifics, well here you go.

And, to those who would say every company has some employees/ex-employees who are upset, well, that is true, but when the majority of the MT are upset, and yes, majority at Nuance are not happy, that should be a red flag. I work hard, not lazy, never have been, but when my benefits keep getting cut and my pay keeps going down and my line count goes up that's not just one employee or a few upset, that is an industry taking advantage of people just because they can. I will be soooo glad when I get out of this mess and that day is coming very, very soon.

I left them in January of this year and haven't looked back or regretted the decision. I have NO NO NO stress and am making 3 times as much money. Yes, I had to GO to work but I LOVE IT!! A place that actually appreciates their workers, go figure! Nuance can go fly a kite for all I care. Send it all to India! They don't mind working for PENNIES, but I DO....Serves these big corporations right if their work sucks now cuz they outsourced it.

I went into the hospital and was out 3 weeks. Then I come back to a phone call with all these hundreds of errors I am supposed to be making and since they took over our hospital, me being there 15 years, never have I had this happen until I had pneumonia and went into the hospital. I feel like they are trying to get rid of me and have given me 2 weeks... but their QA is changing stuff right and left because I printed my info and I know I did not make those mistakes that they are saying I made. I need a good company who appreciates good employees.

they can read the board. I've posted many times and so have others. There is no reason for me to be specific again, for the billionth time when someone is asking "What about Nuance?" It's as plain as the nose on your face what's wrong with this company. By the way, if you are happy, this post doesn't even apply to you, so be happy and let everyone else feel how they feel. I'm glad you are happy. Good for you. I wasn't.

I agree. I was doing just great until I went into the hospital and was out of work 3 weeks, then I come back to complaints and errors I know I did not make, but cannot prove it. I have 17 years experience and in 15 years, I had "2" reports brought to my attention that I had an error on. AND holiday pay is 4.00. 98.48% accuracy is not good enough either.

I just wanted to say to those who judge others so harshly to remember what we are admonished about "Judge not, lest ye be judged."  Some MTs are having more trouible than others.  Lucky are those that are not.  Some MTs may be better at some reports than others, but we should not belittle those who are not "up to our standards."  I know that there are many MTs who are much better at this job than I am, but I would hope that there is still room for me, as after almost 11 years ...

After all, MModal has a Facebook page.  We need to start an anti-MModal Facebook Page.  We could write stories of what is happening to us with this company and how we are treated and send in pictures of us working ourselves to death, etc.  Even spouses could get involve and family members how we are to work during holidays, but then there is no work, yet we are to get our hours in.  We write on MTstars, why not have one for Facebook????? ...

According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...

I thought they were 2 different services.  Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows.  All the small companies have been merged I guess.  I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR.  Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

Does anyone know why the ad says "No inquiries from overseas" when they obviously offshore the work?  Anyone reading that would incorrectly assume they do not offshore.  I was reading an article in the newspaper that a journalist was talking about a few days ago regarding the hospital outsourcing to the Web/Nuance, and the spokesperson for the hospital said in the article that the company only employs US MTs.  ...

If Webmedx does away with or changes their recently advertised "PRODUCTION BASED INCENTIVE" bonus and adopts the Nuance quality based bonus then this change may be considered by quite a few WMX employees as yet another cut in pay.
