Wow. I was just offered a job by MQ. I politely asked if the 'rumors' were true about being docked for sending reports to QA. I was informed that if you are supposed to do 6,000 lines a week and 300 lines total come to QA, then yes you would be docked 3 cents per line. If you are part-time with 4,000 line a week and 200 lines total came to QA, then you would be docked. I politely said that I would have to decline.

BUT, if you feel that even QA cannot get your blank, then send it through to the client. How much do you want to bet me that if you did do that and when the client complained, then MQ would review it and say QA could have gotten that and you are being docked anyway.

In my opinion this is setting a very dangerous environment where MTs are too scared to send reports to QA and possibly making some errors that could have major consequences. What happens if you get on a supervisor's bad side and all you get are crappy dictators?

I need a job, but I really do feel that it is a time for all of us to band together and not give these MTSOs our collective talent and skills until they want to treat us the way we deserve and not accept the crappy pay and the penalities!!! Time to make a stand ladies and gentlemen even if it hurts our pocketbook for a while! This is only going to get worse.

They are trying to force MTs to work for the same wages and under the same conditions as the ILP. When we refuse, they will be glad and get what they want - to send it all to India and say we are spoiled.

I totally agree, it is time to take a stand, or get out altogether. Because MQ is ruining or has ruined the profession. Other companies have no choice but to follow suit to stay in business. It is no longer a career or a living.

I so badly wanted to quit on the spot the minute I read the FTR memo.

Unfortunately, I cannot quit until I have another job lined up, and I am afraid to look for another MT/ME job because the effect is going to trickle down. Tough situation but I am looking for a new career so I can start paying all my bills and have enough left to really shop for groceries.

I would love us all to quit simultaneously but we would suffer just as much as MQ. It sure would be satisfying though. It would be one of the happiest moments of my life.

I lost my job a few months ago. I started applying, testing, waiting to hear from companies. I did get hired this week part-time for VRE work and it pays peanuts. I got a job offer at Probity. The pay has an incentive built in for anything over 5000 lines per pay period. Does anyone know what the pay period is?
