medquist job offer to exmqmters - exmqmt

Posted: Nov 05, 2011

Just got a message from Medquist asking transcriptionists who quit to come back. Seriously......Uhhh..ya gonna pay me more? Ya gonna have work this time? Ya gonna stop taking away accounts after I get used to them? Seriously....

They probably know full well people won't reply - - just another "excuse" to offshore more work.

come back - fed up

[ In Reply To ..]
come back to what??? Why are they begging people to come back when there's no work?

come back? - Former MT

[ In Reply To ..]
Who are they kidding, come back to what. I wouldn't trust them even if they DID up my pay, give me back my account which went to India, and a host of other things, knowing one day they would cut my pay again and again, send my account away, and I'd be right back where I was headed when I left. I hope some day they are exposed legally for this crap, and all heck falls down around them!

MQ Jobs - MQ Recruiter

[ In Reply To ..]
That was meï I work for MedQuist as a recruiter. If you were called itâs because you were an employee that left in good standing. We understand how transient the transcription world is (employees hopping from one company to another) and like to offer our former employees an opportunity to return before sourcing new ones. In any event if youâd like to pass your information on to me regarding your account going overseas or any other negative experience youâve had with MedQuist Iâd be happy to forward them on.
Because I do this for a living Iâll share this muchâ¦âBig brotherâsâ everyone. Someone is always watching, taking notes of comments, trends, feedback, etc. and not just MedQuist, everyone. Your voices are heard but be cautious, it may be the company to which youâve just applied thatâs listening. Recruiters are 100xâs more likely to hire an employee who doesnât have a history of badgering their former employee. They may not want to take the risk of it happening to themï

hate to call you a liar - but you are

I have a bridge for you, however.

the grass is not always greener!!!! - crystal

I know I am probably going to take a bashing for this but here goes......I worked for Your Office Genie and then MQ. I was with MQ for about 4-5 years. I made great money while there. Then came the big open pool thing. My supervisor was let go, and I left my two week notice after not being able to have a full day of work on less than 5 accounts. Apparently my supervisor did not turn in my notice and I never received an exit interview...which I thought was strange but thought I slipped through the cracks.

Years later, I am missing MQ and the bonus pay, and yes my accounts that I grew so fond of. I have worked for 2 other companies and neither of them have the platform that MQ did, and yes the support staff.

I tried to reapply with MQ only to be told I was on the no-re-hire list because I did not leave a notice. If I could go back in time, I would have taken extra steps to ensure that my notice was passed on to those above my supervisor.

If you are currently working for MQ, you should be happy you have a job with a company that pays on time and pays a decent wage with opportunity to earn bonus. Those jobs are hard to come by and I would love to be back with MQ.

Umm.....what bonus is that? - nm

grass is not always greener - just want to work

[ In Reply To ..]
decent wage and opportunity to earn bonus? You obviously have left a long, long time ago.

I was going to ask the same thing ... bonus? - WHAT bonus?

[ In Reply To ..]
I've worked for MQ for almost 15 years and I haven't had a bonus of any kind in YEARS. My QA scores are always between 99%-100% - my last 4 were 100%. If that doesn't qualify for a bonus I'm not sure what will. FORGET about production bonuses - they don't exist. I'm not sure how many decades ago you worked at MQ but they don't do bonuses anymore - it's been years and years.
to: I was going to ask the same thing...bonus? - tanzie
[ In Reply To ..]
Oh, my gosh -- how could you leave out those bonuses where you have target lines to reach? Most of the time the number is so ridiculous that you'd have to work 24 hours straight to get it and then you have to take in consideration if there is work to be had --- some at first jumped on and thought it was great, but slowly people realized wait a minute we're helping getting them caught up and we're not getting decent pay for it. They used to have those clear cut bonuses where you did so many lines that were within reach and you got a decent compensation, but no more -- they're devious and they try to play us thinking we'll fall for it. Some do, but usually ignore subsequent ones as they know what a joke it is and that the MT is the one who is losing out, as always with this company. They've got it rigged so that MTs do not share in the wealth that was created for them by the MT.

so sorry to hear that - out of here soon

[ In Reply To ..]
Here I thought I had the worst job in the world, but I cannot imagine doing your job. You know that many of them will never make more than minimum wage nor be able to handle the job past 60-90 days without getting terminated, but yet you have to "sell" Medquist and all the "potential" these new employees can make. I don't know that I could do that without throwing up a little bit. Its not your fault though I know, you only have the script you are given to read, same as the CCMs when we call to complain about the latest paycut or horrible benefits. The turnover rate must be extremely high for you to be on this board looking for potential victims, I mean recruits. Or maybe the quality you get from the India ILPS and the newbies from MTEC or other MT schools must be so bad you are willing to contact former disgruntled employees because even an unhappy employee would be better than an ILP.

We do this for a living too and we know that whatever way Medquist goes, so does the industry. When Medquist decides to cut benefits (or provide such poor health insurance that it can only be called catastrophic) and ASR pay so do the other companies. We also know that Medquist is gobbling up and any company we transfer to has a high likelihood of being bought out by Medquist anyway.

I know you would like to think you are helping by offering to pass along information, but here's a word of advice: Everyone at Medquist already knows and they obviously don't care. Why do you think they hired you to recruit? Because they believe that we MTs are as interchangeable as a different pair of shoes, just go buy new ones. They have already gotten slapped with multiple lawsuits regarding underpaying their MTs and overcharging clients and nothing changed for the better, things just get worse. Finally anything is better than staying here.

Last word, you need to know the other companies are watching and they know the poor reputation Medquist has. All you have to say is I worked for Medquist and they say I'm sorry and what took you so long to leave?

I couldn't have said it better myself - Well said!

[ In Reply To ..]
The most ironic part? That is *exactly* what the other company said that I interviewed with last week - just before they offered me $0.02 more a line over what MQ said is "topped out" and just after they said "When can you start".
to: I couldn't have said it better myself - Well said! - tanzie

Ditto that on the previous post and congrats to you for finding hopefully a better job!!!

To MQ recruiter, posts on this board are supposed to be anonymous - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
and certainly hope MT Stars is not giving employers, including Medquist, emails/names of those who post here. You (MQ recruiter) allude to "Big Brother" is watching and monitoring our posts, can this be true and our emails are being given out without us knowing it! Please tell me it isn't so!!!!!!

MTStars Confidentiality - MQ Recruiter

[ In Reply To ..]
Certainly not. No personal information in provided to me or others. The web is a very powerful tool. Nothing is ever erased. It's always out in the cyber world. At times it's not difficult to connect the dots. My only point is, in the world of business and professionalism, itâs frowned upon to speak poorly about your current or past employer. Chatting with a friend in confidence is one thingâ¦to post on the intranet is another.
Yea, well that's too bad! MQ continues to stab people - Happily out of there!
[ In Reply To ..]
in the back and not with a kitchen knife but a sword drawing blood with no regard whatsoever! If MQ doesn't like the reputation they have, then they are the only ones who can make changes toward humanity. However, instead, it just gets worse with them.

By posting on the Internet the outrageous things they do to many mom's who just want to make a living and raise their kids, like destroying their lives in one swoop, other companies CAN see it and hopefully will not follow suit. I have on numerous occasions spoken to recruiters who are actually sympathetic when the name medquist comes up. They should be ashamed!!

I say let them send it all to India, mistreat them, and leave us alone for bigger and better opportunities instead of sucking us in with promises only to stab us in the back once they have a hold on us. Only we can determine our own fate where this company is concerned, and my advice to anyone reading this is DO NOT WORK FOR THEM!

If you have been spared so far, it is only a matter of time until you open an email or receive a phone call from MQ lunging with their sword.

The prior poster had it right and perfectly said, "out of here soon" I think it was, and I would actually be ashamed to admit I was a recruiter for this despicable company.

Shame on all associated with this company!
you are the company you keep - out of here soon
[ In Reply To ..]
Your post really struck a nerve with me because that was me a few weeks ago. I was content here just doing my job, nobody bothered me, yeah I had some NJA but I always could make up the hours, I just sat back and took pay cut after pay cut- you know the drill. It always nagged at me that Medquist sent work to India and they were not held under the same quality standards we were. Their poor quality was dragging down the reputation of the company I worked so hard for. It finally dawned on me that by staying I was just condoning the ILP practice, same as AHDI did with the Kaiser lawsuit and the lawsuit for the MTs. By staying silent and looking the other way I was giving acceptance. You are the company you keep. I just didn't want to be associated with the practices of this company any longer.

I started sending out resumes a few weeks ago to companies who don't outsource to India and you know what- they pay better than Medquist! Now I just need to make my choice and I will be out of here soon.

The one thing I have learned is that things only get worse in this company, they never get better. I know because I hung in there way too long thinking that the bonuses would come back or they surely couldn't cut ASR pay again or that I actually would be making the same money I was making the year before and it never happened. Now I am kicking myself that I didn't get out sooner.

Offer From Medquist
Mar 19, 2010

Wow.  I was just offered a job by MQ.  I politely asked if the 'rumors' were true about being docked for sending reports to QA.  I was informed that if you are supposed to do 6,000 lines a week and 300 lines total come to QA, then yes you would be docked 3 cents per line.  If you are part-time with 4,000 line a week and 200 lines total came to QA, then you would be docked.  I politely said that I would have to decline.  BUT, if you feel that even QA canno ...

Non-MT Job Offer
Mar 29, 2013

...Okay, I'm not here to start a fight about union vs non-union, but I was just offered a non-MT job at a hospital that has a union, and I am anti-union.  When she told me that it was a union position, my jaw dropped.  She must have seen the look on my face, because she told me that since this is Florida, we don't HAVE to join the union or pay dues or anything like that.  My face brightened up right away. SO, if you are not pro-union be SURE to ask if the state you live ...

GOT A BETTER OFFER FROM WAL-MART
Feb 18, 2010

Well after being in this business for almost 20 years, I have decided it's time to hang up the keyboard,  as a single person I can no longer support myself as a medical transcriptionist.  This is not even a good part-time job anymore.  I have worked for more companies than I cared to admit, suffered through intolerable divas as team leads, gestapo QA, constant nip picking on where a comma goes, or a verb, and had my cpl reduced from what started out at 13 cpl to 0.0350 cpl.&n ...

I have 2 job offers from 2 different companies, but both of these companies are fairly large and have multiple posts with complaints that there is just not enough work for everyone. Would it be possible to take both offers, on the chance that if one doesn't have work the other will? I might be kinda screwed if they both have a lot of work, but it might be worth it to see how both will work out without closing any doors. Has anyone done this before? Is it possible to run 2 companies differen ...

Job Offer From Transolutions

I have a job offer from Transolutions, but I have a couple of questions.   I use Instant Text and I need to know if their platform is compatible with it.  This would definitely be a dealbreaker for me.   The opinions of the company I read on this board were not very favorable -- slow speech rec program,  too much speech rec, etc.  But all the opinions were at least 2 years old.  Is there any more current information out there?   The pay scale is very enticing, but if the ...

My normal production of straight typing is around 150-200 lph.  With this info., should it be a problem to earn more than what I'm currently making on unemployment?
