Would this company hire with no transcription experience - but a LPN? sm

My neighbor calls me to help her get through the test for the company..Im like really,, if you cant get past the test how the heck are you going to do the job..No I wont help you..Im afraid she used me as a referal and no way would I refer her...A 6-month LPN course doesnt make you a transcriptionist, obviously, since she needed help with the practical part of the test that can all be googled anyway...So tired of people thinking because we work from the house that we are idiots and just typists...

I seriously doubt it. The requirements are transcription - experience,

process apparently at MM & got a call to attend a group call. It sounded to me like they were trying to get them to all sign up for the Career Step course... I didn't think MM did this, but that's who he said it was, so who knows...

A casual acquaintance found out - what I do for a "living"

and told me, "I bet my wife could do that. She used to work at a bank." WTH????????? Seriously?!??

A lot of people do not know what transcription is - Misunderstood.

One friend keeps asking me insurance coverage questions and why they didn't cover something.

Someone else thinks I do medical billing.

Someone else thinks I do coding.

else thinks they can "do transcription at home." I have 25+ years experience and I have trouble doing it a lot of days. Come on now. Why does everybody assume transcription requires no education and no experience? People who have done coding, nursing, etc. all think they could just jump in and transcribe.

Because the stilly work-at-home scams and sometimes colleges - say that they can.

Yes! All you need is an internet connection and you too can work at home as a medical transcriptionist and potentially make over $5000 a month all while watching your kids. Work as little or as much as you want! Set your own hours!

There are serious laws about those kinds of things. I doubt they would do that. It would be similar to 'bait 'n switch', but in the employment world, much more serious.

I received a job interview for an IC position with a company called National Medical Transcription with headquarters in New York. Has anybody worked with this company? My main concern was that the company does not offer direct deposit but rather issues a check via mail. I was hired a month ago by a large MT service that starts with a T. They were really needing help. Well, for the past five days there has been no work. I mean none. Why did they even hire me? I have been doing transcription for 15 years. My youngest daughter got into some trouble as a teen and has a record. She is having a hard time finding work in our rural community. I could probably train her at home to be a transcriptionist and help her, but just curious if anyone knows if any of the companies hire someone with a felony? I had an administrative role at my company before it was taken over by a big player. The following things happened. 1. The supervisors at my company were demoted to MTs unless they had a college degree and were willing to travel extensively. 2. After a few days of arguing back and forth with my CCM about feedback issues, audit keeping me from earning full pay, inconsistencies, I finally had a conference call with CCM and QA sup as well.
