When the dictator:

1. Constantly saying "um" or "ah" or "and" throughout dictation?

2. Sucking his teeth?

3. Sniffing and snorting snot?

ALL EQUALLY DISGUSTING TO ME.

Take a second and blow your nose.

When they burp! GAWD, gag me. I am at the point, if I get a dictator who is just horribly gross, I don't finish the report and QA it. I'm sorry, we put up with too much anymore to feel physically sick when we are doing it. Also if they cannot construct a sentence, then so be it and you know what, it never comes back, so I guess it's okay to chop up every sentence they say. The good ole days are so long gone, it is unbelievable and how we used to respect doctors!

For me the worst has to be the doctors who have lost their voice and are still trying to dictate. High squeaks and whispers and you maybe can understand every third word. For goodness sake doc, go home and crawl in bed and leave the dictation for another day.

that I know had to be eating a dry peanut butter sandwich without drinking anything for the first half of the report and then decided to drink throughout the last half. And he never even slowed up on his dictation - just talked right through both.

Those long pauses cost me money. I'd take snot, burps, eating, etc., any day as long as it doesn't stop them from dictating.

How about the one that whistles into the mic while he/she reads the chart. I wonder if they know or even care how much that hurts the MTs ears.

I'm sure I'll get busted on, and I know they can't help it, but I've had incredible stuttering residents who take 10 minutes to dictate a few paragraphs. I'll put up with a lot of sniffing, burping and snotting easier than that.

I used to get a stutterer too, havent had him in a while. Very time consuming between waiting for him to get out what he wants to say, plus having to delete all the asr dication with the multiple words that he was stuttering to get through.

I have been an MT for over 20 years and have worked at a few different companies. I am currently with DSG, and I just have to say, DSG seems to have the WORST dictators of any company that I have worked for. I work on 5 different accounts for them and it is all the same. Lately I have not bee doing well, short on line count, a few bad audits, I am in the dog house. I now have a fear that a I too will be let go. It is hard to work like this, wish I could just quit, but cannot right now, maybe in a few months, unless they terminate me. I understand the policy, 150 LPH, but sometimes I just cannot make it, dictators are bad, unfamiliar accounts. When it is good, it is good, but when it is bad, it is bad! I guess I will just keep plugging along until other wise :( ...

What if the extremely lower than ever volumes (OOW on 3 accounts at a time) is because some of the acute worktypes are being converted to ambulatory care WT since more and more patients are kept in observation status or "extended recovery" instead of being admitted. W(c)ould not some of those same-day surgery types perhaps be called ambulatory? We would likely be kept in the dark about that just like everything else, don't you reckon? Don't ever work for this sham of a company, who decides at the drop of a hat to drop wages to minimum wage base and then gives a pay grid to aspire to, all the while tying your hands behind your back with no work and no pooling. I have worked for Nuance a long time ago. They had e-scription and it was the worst program i have ever been in. I had to check, check, and double check the demographics and God forbid if there was something i had to correct! By the time i got to transcribing, i had already wasted a half-hour. If it just me, or does Superior Global have the worst Supervisors and QAs? They all send feedback like crazy, no one is on the same page, they can't keep track of what is going on, beg people to work and pay them NOTHING. I have never seen anything like this.
