A few weeks ago I stopped in here to tell you all good-bye. I had found a new position doing psychiatric transcription and I was taking the leap. At that time, a few of you asked me if I could tell you where I was going and I didn't feel I could at that point. I have now been with Saince, Inc and I can tell you without a doubt I made the right choice for me. The training was actually "hands-on." The trainer explained and showed us how to do something and then he turned his computer over to us and asked us to perform the same task. I find the software user friendly and this training made things so much easier especially since I am a visual learner. The QA people are phenomenal! Friendly, supportive, and encouraging. I know that one of the people who asked me about the company I chose was particularly interested in psych work, well we have it to spare! If you think this might be a good fit for you, I encourage you to contact the recruiter. While I won't reveal the pay info, I will tell you that getting paid has not been an issue. What more could I ask for....plenty of work, pleasant people, and paid on time???

Guess dictators are more difficult than they thought and this will get people over the hump until VR kicks in. I think I have to consider it. Live at MM is beyond miserable.

[ In Reply To ..]I used to work for them. I did not have such a good experience. Did an investigation and found I was being lied to and cheated out of a lot of money. Maybe they have a new supervisor now; I don't know. I did not do psych with them though so hope it works out for you.

I know someone working there right now making 50 bucks on an 8 hour day and dealing with STRONG ESL. Glad I did not go there. She has been there a month and already looking for another job. And really, as another poster stated, what are you doing promoting an Indian company on a US MT web site?

[ In Reply To ..]I'm one of the part-timers who was cut in the last round, had worked for MM for 20 years (well, it wasn't MM in those days, but you know what I mean!), and it felt like the end of the world when I lost this part-time job because I really depended on this in addition to my day job to meet the mortgage. But I guess it's true that when one door closes, a window opens, because I fell into a great job with a medical marketing company transcribing interviews and meetings, where I accept jobs as I have the time capacity (no signing up for specific schedules, just "can you meet this deadline for this job?" and it pays closer to what I was making when I was at the peak of my transcription, before they started making changes.

Hi everyone I just wanted to stop by really quick and let you all know that finally, FINALLY I am off QA. I was given two accounts today in addition to the one they had initially given me. I can now type w/o counting my reports and waiting for feedback first. It remains to be seen of course, whether or not there will be as much work as I was told but so far, this company has been true to their word. Evidently it is an unwritten rule at my company that when you are asked to work hours outside of your shift, or over 40 hours, it is a given that you are to do so with no extra pay.
